I would not be surprised to see us sign either Wyatt or Beal or both
Beal is severely overrated so I wouldn’t be overly upset if he flipped, but I’m a big fan of Wyatt. He is a big piece of this class with the lack of high end DL depth in 2017. He doesn’t have the star power, but he is going to contribute at the next level.

That makes two of us. My aunt is an Administrator at Archer, his former high school. She was pretty connected to Kyle Davis, EJ Price, Williams and their families. By all accounts, Jamyest is very loyal, so I don’t see him making a switch. He’s just creating excitement for NSD IMO.

He's very loyal? He went to four or five high schools

So anyways, this weekend sucked with the weather. And I keep waiting for some texts or calls for news and I've got nothin.
Anyone hearing or reading anything anywhere?
Next weekend is the big one.

I feel good about Wyatt. Said his UGA visit wasn't "anything special." Still nervous about Williams, and now a little nervous about Sterling. I heard Tennessee was now in contention for his services.

And Nasirldeen just decomitted.

Yep, major blow. If we lose Williams, then this class is just another class.

I know we aren't supposed to focus on start rating but if we lose both, this is a Steve spurrier level class.

Beal is overrated on ESPN because they have him EXTREMELY high, but he's still an upper-to-mid-4* talent. He really struggled to find his place at IMG and it wasn't a good move for him, but there was a reason he was a 5* early in the process; he was dominant his sophomore and junior seasons. He has the tools to be a great 5-tech or maybe even grow into a 3 for UGA. Solid run stopper with a good motor.
Wyatt is criminally underrated. Plays at a small school with minimal exposure, but a superb athlete. Coach him up and the sky is the limit.

I am thinking the same thing. I really hope we have some surprises down the stretch.

FWIW, I think you add Sterling and Wyatt, both of whom are very good defensive linemen that I'd like to have at UGA.

I was told something tonight that makes total sense.
We've already got the safeties we need - we wanted to make a LB out of Nasirldeen and he wants to remain a safety at FSU (Skai Moore is going to be the big safety). Forget about losing Nasirldeen if we can ... it hurts our class ranking but we're in desperate need of DLinemen and this frees up another scholly for another DLineman which I am still being told is going to be the surprise.
Wish I knew more about how Wideman was doing BTW. Something strange going-on with him.
I don't think the coaches are giving-up on Nasirldeen as much as they are not worrying about what he does and making a move in another direction - seems like maybe they had a contingency plan for this for the past week or so.
We may just have enough DBs and Safeties in this class already, along with transfers, etc., provided we sign Williams.
Nobody seems to be panicking over there - just the opposite. Everyone is focused on the upcoming visits.

Moving moore to safety makes sense. If he came back I would imagine nfl is on his mind and he would be more likely at safety than lb at the next level. I heard the EE safety Dickerson was underrated and stood the possibility of getting decent playing time this year. I would assume eldridge Thompson would be who steps up at lb. Will-Thompson, Mike- Baw, Sam-Brunson.
Everything I've heard on Wideman was if we get anything out of him it would be good, but not expecting much.

I feel like every time we get a high profile S or CB commit, they just end up flipping. Not saying it is necessarily fact, but I feel like for some reason, recruiting a solid defensive backfield here has become nearly impossible.

If there are anythings in life that are guaranteed they are that women are hormonally driven, men don't pick their fights carefully most of the time, the media is liberal, water is wet, the stock market goes up and down, the weather changes, babies poop their diapers and Will mUSChamp will have good secondaries.
Those are guarantees. You can go through life never worrying about those things because they are not going to change.
Someone from SEC Country is regularly reading our SC board here because there have to been too many next morning vague references to be coincidental ... or either someone has the same sources I have and are getting the same info using the same phraseology almost word for word. Regardless, I'm flattered and I figured they would figure out who I am eventually ... but we have to be careful now knowing for sure that we're definitely attracting attention again.
With that said, what I typed last night about losing the kid from Concord ... yes it does sting but we've got the secondary covered. The coaches are not phased by this. He was going to be a LB for us, not a safety. We're all good - it's all good.
We need DLinemen. This staff seems to have a plan in place and contegiency plans for everything .... something very positive is happening over there. A lot of high fiving and a lot of smiles.
This coming weekend ... this coming weekend may solidify our DLine as one to be reckoned with for a few years. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
The kid from Concord - God Bless'em. May he have an injury free career and have big games against the taterheads. And when we face FSU ... may we embarass his flippin' arse.

So your sources feel confident Skai will be a safety?
Posted on 1/23/17 at 9:47 am to GetCocky11
I often wonder what these opposing recruiters tell these kids and how much the parents are involved in the process. It is what it is though
Posted on 1/23/17 at 11:14 am to GameCocky88
He's going to be a hybrid ... a safety and a buck. Absolutely.

You, Conway and Scrooster need to go answer my basketball question in the other thread.
Recruiting related, where do ya'll think you end up? Think you can break into the top 15?
