I mean holy crap.

I know. South Carolina is in a slump themselves this year. But at least we have a coaching change and can beat a few teams here and there.

I'm being a dick, but I really have no idea what happened over there. Is it just lack of talent?

The players hate their coach.

In short, MSU recruited one way, but the new design of the baseballs approved by the NCAA has made the college game flow the exact opposite way. The old "gorilla ball" vs. "small ball" argument.

This is a lot of our problem as well, IMO.

I asked the same sort of question a couple of weeks ago and found the MSU fan's answers to be on target. They have lost a ton of talent in the last couple of years to MLB.

This really is part of the problem, if not the main one. The players don't respect Cohen or his coaches.

If he is back I hear we will have some major league attrition. I would imagine his seat is red hot. I don't see a quick fix. It sucks.

All the top teams in our league lose players to the draft regularly. We've lost 17 players to it the last two years and aren't throwing up an 8-22 season. I think the problem is a bigger issue than just that.

Cohen needs to go. He's not respected in the in college baseball world, nor is he by a lot of travel coaches. They have everything there needed to bring in a quality coach and I expect them to after this debacle.

The Jim Toman race will be on soon... I feel like he'll end up at back at South Carolina sooner than later but if MSU's AD was smart he'd have Toman's agent's cell number in his contacts by next April.

You'd think so. Normally Miss St draws as well as LSU does, and the place was deserted when we were there.
I can't think of a more sputaminous coach in college baseball than Cohen. MSU needs to dump him the minute the season is over.

One of my best friends from travel ball played for him for two years. Seems a lot of USC fans think they're going to poach from CofC, but I don't think Monte leaves Charleston.

They are having a nightmare season this year that is for sure. Cohen did take them to the championship game but overall his tenure has been pretty mediocre.

They had... Their season has been over since 3 o'clock this afternoon.

Cohen went 6-24 in SEC play one season as well... I didn't know that was possible... MSU hasn't won the conference since the late 80s but they've finished last several times since then... Wes Rea is so frickin fat.

There are 3 big time jerks in SEC baseball. Serrano, Golloway, and Cohen. And they all suck.
