I just wanted to point something out in the Coker/Cornwell battle

First off, let me say I want Cornwell to win the job. I like Coker, but I really want to see what Cornwell can do on the field for the next 2-3 years.
However, I've seen a lot of people take shots at Coker for there even being a discussion as to who our coaches should select as our starting QB. I assume these people saying this think he should easily have grabbed the job due him being a Senior and Cornwell being a RS Freshman.
I also assume these same people don't realize that Cornwell, not Coker, has been on this team longer. He enrolled early and had access to Alabama coaching and the playbook in the Spring of last year while Coker was still taking classes (over 20 hours) in Tallahassee so he could graduate and transfer.
I guess my point is that it is certainly fine to have your favorite in this race. I do. But don't bash the other guy when he's been on this team for less time, by 5 months no less.

I think Coker would have had a better chance to play in Tallahassee this season.
ETA: Either way, Cornwell will have the chance to win the job next season if he loses out this season.

If Coker hasn't separated himself from Cornwell at this point, Cornwell will almost certainly pass him by the time August rolls around.

I want coker for his running ability. I want cornwell for his arm talent and longevity. But at the end of the day I just want the guy who helps us get wins.

Cornwell is surprisingly athletic for his size.

Meh. Sims hadn't really separated himself from the pack last spring. A lot happens in fall camp.
I sure hope we have a starter by Wisconsin. That is a very losable game if we don't have the right guy under center.

Cornwall runs well, at least he did before the acl

Coker for his running talent lol. He isn't that fast trust me. Cornwell can move as well as him if needed.

Cornwell is the best QB we have on the roster. He has a cannon and is more accurate than Coker.

Cornwell looked really good during warm ups. I know it's just warm ups, but his delivery and ball placement looked the best.

Because 5th year senior Blake totally separated himself from a new transfer QB all fall camp. People said Coker would surpass Sims by the 4th game. It didn't happen.
I feel like there's a lot of bama fans that bash Coker simply because deep down, they don't feel like he's really all Bama. They'd rather see one of the guys that originally committed to Bama win the job.
Some people don't even bother hiding it really

Cornwell is obviously not in contention unless they are hiding him. Very few reps and not impressive in those. Happy feet, rushes throws and can't seem to check down.
EDIT: I stand corrected, Cornwell threw 24 passes, completed 12. Roughly the same stats as Coker. It just seemed that #2 O sent a different QB every series.

He's wearing an Alabama jersey and that's plenty enough for me.

Coker is obviously the guy, just like Sims was last year.
Let's hope Coker can get it together and get some consistency. One thing I didn't like was how late he was reading and passing the ball.

One thing about Coker yesterday is, much like sims last year, the coaches didn't give him the green light to run. I really like Jake's ability to pick up yards with his feet.
Also, yesterday his release didn't seem as slow as I remembered. He still needs to speed up his internal clock, but I think he's improving in that aspect.
