Let's start with this; who is the most undeserving team to be crowned BCS Champions?
Most undeserving? 2011 Alabama.
LSU had a better record against better competition. In a playoff, Alabama likely would have had trouble with Oklahoma State.

Even though they beat Arkansas by like 25 points?

Look at the cement head you're trying to reason with. This poor sap is obsessed with LSU.

Let's have a look back at the BCS days (1998-2013)
quote:
2011 Bama is the most undeserving modern day cfb champion. Deal with it.
Except everyone who has half a brain or doesn't hate Bama knows Bama was the best team in college football that season. One OT loss in the regular season doesn't change that.
Uh, noooo. Alabama was the best team on 1/9/12.
LSU had arguably the greatest regular season in CFB history in 2011 outscoring 13 opponents 500-123.
Of those 13 opponents, 8 were bowl teams, 3 were ranked in the Top 3 during the season, and 5 were ranked in the Top Ten during the season. Only 1 team got within 14 points of LSU that year. LSU scored 40+ points SEVEN times on this murderous schedule.
Bama's SOS didn't even come close to either LSU's or Okie State's in 2011.
My second and third paragraphs have nothing to do with flaming, trolling, 'opinion' etc. They all HAPPENED...
It's shamefully unfortunate that #1 LSU was forced to not only play Top Ten Georgia in the SECCG, but that we were forced to play the THIRD PLACE SEC team in the BCSNCG, when another team had a much stronger SOS and actually won their conference - 2 SUPPOSED criteria for the BCS formula !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (not that we would DEFINITELY have beaten Okie State.)
My question - Why oh why even PLAAAAAAAAYYYY an SECCG that year ????????????????????????????????????
Yes you're right, I'm still mad and 'butthurt' over that every time someone brings it up- you're DAMN right.....

In defense of Bama's sos...Penn State was 8-1 and ranked #12 before Sanduskygate.
And before you bring it up, the Oklahoma State women's hopscotch team plane crash or whatever isn't the same.

What a stupid comment. LSU was 13-0, SEC Champion and overwhelming #1 in 2011. And in 2003,if you want to say Southern Cal should have been there, fine. But LSU was 12-1 and SEC champion.
Sure, the 2007 team was lucky to get it in with two losses. But what team was better than LSU that year?
Again,stupid post

The real answer is Ohio St. 2002. A horrible call after the game was over is the definition of undeserving.

quote:
But the least deserving team was 2003 LSU. They lost 19-7 at home with their only score coming by a special teams TD to an 8-5 Florida team starting a true freshman QB. Compare that to USC who lost in triple OT to an Aaron Rodgers led Cal team on the road.
You realize that Cal team was only 7-6, right? And that LSU had much more impressive wins (2 over Georgia alone, who was ranked in the top 10 both times) and played a tougher schedule? LSU was more deserving than USC that year.
quote:
Plus their schedule was garbage that year.
USC's was worse, at least by all the schedule strength measures in use at the time. Georgia was significantly better than anyone USC played that year, and we had to play them twice.
quote:
They were badly outplayed in two of those games (Florida at home, Georgia at home)
Florida yes, Georgia no. You are just looking at total yardage and obviously didn't watch the game. Georgia held the upper hand until about midway through the 2nd quarter, but it was all LSU after that. Virtually all of UGa's yardage advantage came on one play (the 93-yard TD pass late in the game) and the desperation drive at the end after we had scored to regain the lead and were just playing to keep them out of the end zone.
quote:
barely scraped by Ole Miss
Funny how you want to look at stats for the Georgia game but only the scoreboard for this one. LSU absolutely dominated this game statistically, but a flu-plagued Matt Mauck's multiple interceptions (including a pick-6) kept Ole Miss in it, and a very fortuitous defensive holding call on 3rd and long deep in their own territory kept their only offensive scoring drive alive.
quote:
USC was completely hosed that year.
USC and LSU played 2 common opponents, Arizona and Auburn. Against Arizona, both won in easy blowouts (LSU 59-13, USC 45-0). Against Auburn, USC had a tough, close game for three quarters (6-0 at half? 13-0 at end of 3rd?) before Auburn's defense gave out and allowed a couple of late scores for a final margin of 23-0. LSU jumped all over Auburn 21-0 in the first quarter and increased it to 31-0 through three quarters before coasting to a 31-7 win (Auburn scored in the final 2 minutes).
LSU compiled a better record (12-1 vs. 11-1) against a tougher schedule, was ranked higher in EVERY computer ranking, got robbed of a "quality win" over Georgia because we had to play them a second time, which knocked them out of the top 10 when we beat them again, and was also robbed by ACC refs of a chance to avenge our only loss when Florida got totally screwed against FSU, knocking them down in the BCS rankings and killing them in the tiebreaker for the East.
quote:
the only teams they played with a pulse were Georgia 2x, Florida and Ole Miss
Not Auburn, huh? OK, but they were better than Cal by all measures, so obviously Cal didn't have a pulse either. Therefore you are saying the team that beat LSU (Florida) had a pulse and the team that beat USC (Cal) didn't, but USC had the more respectable loss? Weird.
Bottom line: LSU's argument vs. USC in 2003 >>>>>>>>>>>> Bama's argument vs. Okla. St. in 2011

Do you have any anger/irritation for CLM and his inability to gameplan for the re-match with Bama? It seemed like Les refused to strategically change a damn thing from his gameplan in the 1st matchup, resulting in a humiliating loss on the biggest stage.
Since that perfect regular season in '11, LSU has added an SEC loss each year 2011 8-0, 2012 6-2, 2013 5-3, 2014 4-4.......

"If you must pick, LSU lost two games in OT, but they were to bad, bad teams.. LSU has always been lucky to get in the game."
And he's an Auburn fan. Guess they don't teach reading comprehension @ the University of LSU.
