I almost posted about MFBarnes yesterday, but some nerds here get their butt plugs in a wad whenever TA is mentioned.
Pretty interesting. Guy is a whack job with multiple fake personas - all using the same name.

No the letter was legit. Somehow this a hole got involved though.

I really don't go over there very often except for the CenTex board but ventured to Old Rivalries to see the ****show after Texas and BU lost. Got linked to that thread from there and ate popcorn for hours. I'm not going to say I've never stretched the truth or exaggerated online before but that dude took it to another level.

This. Tons of people on the internet exaggerate a bit. It's human nature. But this dude is nuts. I wonder what he's like in real life.

The recruiting letter was found by the player's great grandson, who posted here: XAgsTe
He seems legit. It's still a mystery how MFBarnes82 inserted himself into that story, but it seems Barnes saw it posted on Facebook or Texags, then contacted Sam Kahn at ESPN to make himself a part of the story.
