Gottfried was a disaster his last 3 seasons. His case at NCSt after a year or so off is actually reasoning for the new scenary argument for Crean or Howland

Hopefully he gets the opportunity to further bury Bama.

Why would we want him? We've had enough of ordinary.

His star has fallen awfully far since going to Bloomington. At this point, it doesn't make sense to have fired Gottfried. He is now working on his fourth consecutive tournament appearance. Crean has missed the last two.
Spilt milk. Howland is saying all the right things...he's interested, he learned from his end at UCLA, etc. And he's won everywhere he's been. He even turned No. Arizona around and into a winner. To me, his resume' is much more impressive than Crean's. But I've also heard it said that Howland is difficult to work with and a pain in the arse of the administration wherever he's been. Don't know if true or not, but it makes some sense. That would be a major sticking point at Bama. It's what has kept Mikes Davis and Anderson out of Tuscaloosa.
Crean is screaming "any port in a storm" to his agent right now who just happens to probably be Jimmy Sexton. I don't know that for a fact, but I do know that Crean is represented by CAA Sports; the same firm that Mr. Sexton happens to work for. Interesting tidbit for anyone trying to connect the dots between Crean and Bama. We all know Sexton is cozy with most of the AD's in the SEC since he represents most of them.
Miller, Jacobson, and White are the 3 hot names from the mid-major ranks and I rate them in the order above. And it's a photo finish between Miller and Jacobson. Both look really good. I give Miller the edge just because he had a hand in helping Sean restore Arizona to a superpower before moving on. So he's been on the big stage before, at least as an asst.
I just have a gut feeling Prohm is not what we're looking for. I don't see him as anything more than an Andy Kennedy type: on the bubble most years so sometimes you make it and sometimes you don't type of guy. I may be totally wrong and the guy might be Adolph Rupp reincarnate, but I don't see it.

Why do you say that? Just curious. Is it his coaching, personality, both?
His recruiting history. And his personality

Crean or Howland
Howland brought in the most expensive class in the history of the NCAA and did nothing with it. Why do you think he is a fit? I am not old enough to remember retred tires. But I hope my old man never bought em for the family station wagon.

I'd rather Crean to Bama than Howland.
With that said, I always wanted Crean at LSU while he was at Marquette. I think he'd be a good, not great hire for Bama. an upgrade from Grant nonetheless

It almost certainly is Crean. Not my first choice, but better than what we had. I hope he can recapture his glory days at Marquette.
