I say no. With the #1 recruiting class 4 of the last 5 years there is no excuse or explanation for those 2 consecutive late season humiliating melts. He has lost his championship edge.

Who knows? He's probably got a better shot than Miles.

Will LSU ever win another game against Saban while at Bama?

Who knows? It's more likely that he will win another than it is that he wont. He lost by 7 to the eventual national champion in the inaugural CFB playoff last year, so it's not like he's far from even having a shot at it like some coaches.

What excuse does Miles get for not sniffing even an SEC title the last two years with those top 5-10 classes? Did Miles ever even have a championship edge?

It is an interesting question. I say yes, Coach Saban and Alabama win another NC before he retires.

The part of me that questions the actual possibility is because of the playoff format. Sort of reminds me of Coach Bertman and LSU baseball once the NCAA put in the super regionals. Made it much more difficult to win the NC

I doubt it. This new playoff system doesn't allow for mulligans.
