Mizzou- Just not southern

Florida- Catholic faith, not much true "southern" culture i.e. food, accents, etc

Louisiana- See Florida. Also southern states are not of French ancestry.

Arkansas- More east Texas than southern

Kentucky- Just not in the south

Ever been to the Delta baby??? Alligator hunting, bayous, Spanish Moss, and such. And, Along with West Mississippi, The Arkansas Delta is the Cradle of the Delta blues. King Biscuit in Helena and countless blues artists prove this. I realize eat Texas has many of the same things like gator hunts but the Arkansas Delta all the way up to Blythville and over to LR is DEEP SOUTH.

Where do y’all come up with this stuff?

Yes, FL has a huge Yankee population and Latino contingent. But FL’s contribution to Southern rock (Skynyrd, 38-Special, Outlaws, Allman Brothers, Dickie Betts, Blackfoot, Molly Hatchet) and country music (John Anderson, Bellamy Brothers, Slim Whitman, and others on which I’m unaware) alone makes it an indispensable part of the South. And not to mention gators everywhere and some cool swamps to boot.
