Would prefer we sent you Hyman and we kept Cook. Hopefully he will stay. Big loss for us. His wife is an Aggie, hopefully she can convince him to stay.

Wrong again. Bowen was the one that came up with the 2020 concept. He just never got to move forward with it because of Bonfire. That idea was around long before Gates.

I stand corrected--thank you for setting me straight.
The language I often heard during my graduate years wasn't "Vision 2020," it was "Dr. Gates' Vision 2020."
When something's repeated enough, it becomes easy to believe.

Didn't mean to come off as an a-hole, Bowen's legacy is just often overshadowed by Bonfire so I thought I would throw that out there.

Bowtie doin work. I actually think he would be great as an AD, he seems to have that common sense factor that many ADs lack and he's great at the PR/fundraising portion already

Looks like he is about to get hired as Mizzou's new AD.
Link? I stay very up to date but haven't heard of this guy. Looks like the Aggies so far have a very positive perception of him though. Would make sense with the Bowtieger (Chancellor Loftin) connection.

Why did Loftin leave A&M?
Many faculty/researchers weren't happy with his leadership (to say nothing of rumors that our chancellor, John Sharp, wanted to head in a different direction in terms of the presidency).
And at a research institution, that's the bottom line.
Overwhelmingly, the thought was/is that he was forced out.
He was given a very nice package and was going to return to the classroom.
At that point, Mizzou promptly snatched him up.
