Seriously, I had no idea BHM was a thing in our schools as BluegrassBelle implied. Hopefully this is a Kentucky thing only. I'll quiz my kids about it tomorrow. If they're doing this locally, then I take back everything I said previously. That's just wrong. Only slightly less dumb than mandatory multilingual classes in Texas.

I don't get why why there is even an argument. Are black people getting paid something extra for the month? Do they get tax breaks, loopholes or something?
Why the frack does it bother people that many (extremely important) black people in our country are recognized for their bravery, contributions, and accomplishments in a period of time that was entirely unjustified, immoral, and wholly unequal. It completley boggles the mind.

I honestly don't notice 'em anymore than the normal cycle now, though. Let's be honest--it's not as "edgy" to portray these days as it once was.
