Not sure (the Fort would be the likely place if it happened) but I worked the Championship game on the Strip and we were seriously afraid ahead of time that the place would explode. KPD was out in force though but in those days they were pretty cool.
Knoxville is a mellow place in general as is UT campus. Besides everyone knows we save our fire setting for traitors who leave right before signing day. Sheesh.

Where/why were you working on the strip? Aren't you employed with the university, or did I make that up?

I worked the strip as an undergrad when we won the BCS Championship game. And no, you're not making the latter part up.

LOL, LSU fan calling out Lexington. Sorry, I have lived in both Lexington and Baton Rouge...Baton Rouge is a smelly shite hole with traffic.
that is a fact man! That's one of the reasons I moved to Austin.
But really, I was just making a joke, I've been to Lexington...its actually quite beautiful, just not a lot to do.

Yeah but I was a student when both Peyton and Tee were. Doesn't get much better.
And only on this board would 30 something be considered old.

My condolences. Honestly, I didn't realize how lucky I was at the time. Just like the late 90s early 00s economy we thought it would never end.
If it makes you feel better, the economy dried up on us. I was a part of that generation that thought anything was possible only to see it die as soon as we were ready for the workforce and damn did that fricking hurt. In some ways it was worse to have that happen.

Both of you are old as shite, I was in the 1st grade in '98

Most SEC states fear starting fires in their cities after that march to the sea thing.

Not E. TN. We were the ones who accompanied Sherman on that March.

We burned some crosses after winning the SEC basketball tourney with Hendo. Not sure if that counts or not

Lexington Couch dealers are hoping for a boost in business in April.

Old couches but mainly it's mattresses for us. Not much surprise though it gets cold as frick in Kentucky and Tennessee - January through March. Although March can be either the absolute worst or very mild here.
It's kinda funny but one thing that was missed in the Kiffin hubub is that students were searching for things to burn because they were freezing their asses off. That's actually on tape.

You didn't burn them, you illuminated them

Pretty sure Honey Badger would have been lighting a few up had the Tigers won on 1/9.

Yeah when I pointed out to a tOSU Yankee "friend" that Bama had won 3 national titles in that past 6 years and had felt no need to resort to arson, nor had, LSU, UF, or AU. UT...possibly, but then it is UT
His reply was exactly what you said.

1982.
No mattresses harmed, but you vols did destroy Neylands field and tear down the goal posts, carried one through the streets of 'Knoxvull' and gave the opportunity for every citizen lick the shaft.
True.

We may not burn things, but I bet no other conference can say they've rubbed nuts on dudes faces after winning one!
