Is the Big Ten the SEC from 2005?

Just hired their third elite coach, and beat down an SEC Champion on the biggest stage.
The tide could be turning.
We all know that college football is cyclical. The SEC West was bound to stumble and fall at some point.

No, because SEC teams still are tops at recruiting. One bad year doesnt erase almost ten years of dominance.

Harbaugh, Meyers, Dantonio and Frankllin are all strong coaches and good for the league. Top to bottom the parity is terrible though

The gap will be closer but the SEC will kill it in recruiting for the foreseeable future.

Urban Meyer is definitely a force to be reckoned with. He is a hell of a coach. Probably 1-2 with Saban. But you don't have the athletes in the Midwest to compete over the long haul. It is basically just reload and repeat with Bama. That won't change until Saban goes.

OSU was very impressive last night. They looked big, strong, and fast.
In fact, they looked like an SEC team to me.
As much as it pains me to admit it, I think Urban is going to kick arse there

SEC = Intense fan support + Money/Facilities + smack dab in the middle of the most fertile recruiting ground in the country sandwiched by Texas and Florida
B1G = Intense fan support + Money/Facilities + Ohio.
Most Fertile Recruing Ground in the Country Sandwiched by Texas and Florida > Ohio.
One bad year does not a turn the tide. Just because Auburn and Alabama blew title games/playoff games back to back doesn't mean the B1G is overcoming the SEC. If we start to see it next year and the year after, then sure...perhaps that is the case.

No, most rational people knew the SEC was down this year with all the talent we have sent to the NFL recently. We will be back to form in 2015. Keep hoping and dreaming though!
