Four Fingers for Fourth Quarter

Alabama players started that back in the 70's when they started winning all their games in the 4th quarter.
Other teams would be wore out but not Alabama and Bryant's fourth quarter practices.
His teams were small, fast, and in great shape. They were really the Boise State of their day.\
Anyway, Alabama players started holding up their fingers to indicate that the 4th quarter always belonged to Alabama.
It caught on everywhere. Luckily, Alabama was heavily televised nationally back then and teams everywhere started doing it.
It was like a fad had started and it's never stopped.
