LB situation for 2015

We lose Depriest and Dickson. Dickson to me became a DE more than anything for us this season and he got 8 sacks and did wonderful. Great way for him to go out. Since our MIKE is gone now, Ragland becomes MIKE
My prediction will be this:
SAM: Lee
MIKE: Ragland
WILL: Foster
JACK: Evans
I am hesitant to put Foster at WILL because he is going to break his neck and he needs to make reads but I think those are the best 4 we can field.
2nd scenario would be:
SAM: Devall
MIKE: Ragland
WILL: Lee
JACK: Evans
No knock on Devall or Anderson at all. I just think we need to use them to back Evans up and as DEs similar to Dickson this year. We play so much better and explosive when Evans is hauling arse around the field with Tim Williams. The way offenses are going these days too, he gives us the best chance to win and keep up speed wise.
There are other scenarios with Devall and Anderson in at Jack but I feel like those 2 are the most realistic.
I wouldn't mind playing Devall at Sam and Anderson at Jack when we play a 4-4 against arkansas and LSU.
Allen Robinson Reed Pettway
Anderson Ragland Foster Devall would be a hell of a run stop defense.
Keep it multiple of course like always but the way most of the SEC and nation are going is toward speed ball. Evans is the best speed LB in the nation.

Im with you broseph. I like Devall and Anderson at the Dickson DE spot as well. Would like to see Reuben get his shite together but Lee looks like the next best option at Will if Foster can't stay healthy and learn the defense.

Ragland will be the everydown alpha male for sho, but I would expect to see SDH push Reuben for the other spot.
Hopefully the light comes all the way on for Reuben because he could be downright nasty, but I think the trust aspect gives SDH as much of a shot as anybody after a year in the system.

This won't happen, but I think it would be interesting.
Sam: Devall and Foster
Mike: Ragland
Will: Lee or SDH
Jack: Evans
Foster is absolutely a rocket when rushing the QB, but he seems to have a bit of difficulty with some of the other aspects of being an ILB. What if we used him primarily as a pass rusher and diminished his role in coverage?

hes a bit short for that (listed as 6'1 in bio but looks closer to 6 to me), those tackles are going to be able to get long arms on him immediately. I dont doubt the foster will be able to get it all together, just sometimes takes a little longer for some. I like how hard he plays, and according to ragland hes always watching film trying to get better at reading things.

Tim Williams will be a factor at LB next year. He missed almost all of spring in the doghouse and still has managed to find a nice role with the defense. He's a terror of the edge and physical enough to bust up some RBs.

I think Christian Miller sees the field a alot as well. People forget the type of player he was in high school.

He was my sleeper in the class. I think he'll get part of the rotation and get some significant PT.
As far as the starting lineup for LBers, I think it's Ragland at MLB, Lee+Miller at Will, Foster at SAM, and Anderson+Evans at JACK.

shite, forgot about Devall. I think Evans gets moved around a lot, gets different looks, and Devall starts.

If Evans can get to the 240 or 250 pound range he will be an all american. Hamilton should see plenty of action at inside lb.

Mk no. He runs a 4.4 now. We want to keep that

Looking a little thin atfor the inside backers next year.
Any candidates to help fill that void. Ragland, Foster and SDH are the only guys listed as being inside backers coming back next year.
Anyone in the 2015 class we are looking at? To flip?

Lorenzo Phillips
Could always see Ronnie Clark or Dillon Lee move to ILB.

I think from now on we will have one run stopper in the LB crew. The rest will be able to get after it.

Yep do not discount T Williams and C Miller. Both will be in the mix next year and L Phillips if he comes our way. I also think Devall will get back on track and IIRC he was injured late in the season and never seemed 100% after that.

What about the kid from Hillcrest? Anybody heard anything about how he's doing?

Dillon Lee is a lock down tackler. I've watch him all year and he has missed zero tackles. LC is also this type of player. Truff
