It's late November.
Are LSU fans posting about winning the west? Hoping to win the SEC? Hoping to make the playoff?
Naaaaa... talking about Bama's national championships.

so, by these standards, LSU should claim 1908?

Are we supposed to know what happened in 1908?

There is actually a method behind the choosing of these things that basically all the major schools follow, including the retroactive championships.
Maybe sometime during the offseason this offseason thread will be addresses.
Because all I'm getting from this offseason thread is - LSU loses to Alabama, LSU's season is over.

By a selector that didn't exist until 1980. You can't have it both ways.

Well, they do have that 2-loss NC in '07 and that half a NC in '03.

Sure. Knock yourself out.

My favorite thing about discrediting our national championships is that it always starts with info written about ten years ago, and the OP has to add comments about the three national titles we've won since then. LMAO.

LSU selected as the #1 NCF (National Championship Foundation). Went 10-0. This is legit to me. No championship game but there wasn't a UPI or AP so sure, why not?

No Championship in 1945 for bammer- Army wins! Nice undefeated bammer team...but sorry....Army also had a Heisman trophy winner that year- Doc Blanchard- years before bammer won their first Heisman...In fact- Doc Blanchard beat out the #2 in the Heisman, Glenn Davis- they ran in the same backfield for Army for 3 years and never lost a game......check out the list of All americans that year.
