If you're referring to our version - we had it first. We sued Tejas over it but eventually settled for Tejas being able to use West of the Mississippi because litigation would've been drawn out and I don't thing we initially copyrighted it because it was so OLD. Back then, no one watched games out of time zone so it seemed reasonable.

Our Power T was introduced by then-Head Coach Doug Dickey and debuted 1964, Johnny Majors tweaked it a tad in 1977. As you can see (below) not only did we TM/Copyright it this time around but Tejas' blocky arse T actually looks nothing like it:



Not only did TU attempt to to steal our logo(s) but they very, very, poorly imitated our colors with their cowhide orange - burnt umber if you ask me.

None of this mattered early on when few games were televised but it's annoying as shite now.

Fo' real. One of the things that sticks in my craw is that the interlocking UT is still used to rep the university - my class ring is the interlocking UT. I could've chosen a power T but it's so associated with sports that I just didn't feel right about it. Now, Tejas Vols have reported seeing "T" front plates and having to get closer than normal to see which school it belongs too - some of their stuff is getting awfully close to our orange.

And then there's the fools online who claim to be the real UT. On what planet?! Our university was founded in 1794 (before our own state was atate and well before Texas was a state). Their university was founded 1883. And yet, I hear them claim all the time that they're the real UT.

Anyhoo, between what I've seen of their fans these past few years AND what I've heard from y'all + Mizzou, I'm developing a deep dislike for these frickwads, at least the ones I've encountered even though I know they're not the entire fan base.
