Would the committee pick Moo State over UGA even though they just lost to them?
A one-loss Mississippi State is in, no matter if the one loss is to Bama, Vandy, Ole Miss, Georgia, Missouri or Florida.
Georgia's chance to make the playoff looks like this:
Win out and win the SEC to finish 11-2.
SEC West Champion cannot be an unbeaten MSU - so must leave Atlanta at 11-2 or 10-3.
Need at least three of the other four conference champions to have two losses as well. An 11-2 UGA SEC Champion looks a lot better against an 11-2 Arizona State, an 11-2 Wisconsin and a 10-2 Baylor than they do against a 12-1 Oregon, a 12-1 Ohio State and an 11-1 TCU.

UGA gotta get to the Dome first.

Mississippi State definitely still gets in with one loss. I don't see any way at this point that no SEC team gets into the playoff.

1 or 2 loss SEC West champion upset by Missouri or Florida in Atlanta?

UGA has won the east 2 times in the past 3 years but hasn't been able to get over the hump. What's different about this year?

State would get in. No questions asked.

12-1 State would be considered so much better than 11-2 Georgia that I think the H2H would be ignored much how it was with TCU/Baylor and Oregon/Arizona.
Goes even more so if Georgia gets whipped by Auburn the way most of us think they will. 3 loss UGA still prob gets into SECCG, mizzou will lose again. The question would have been 12-1 Miss St vs 11-1 Auburn, but A&M solved that issue.

2-loss SEC team is not getting in above a 1-loss Power 5 conference team. A 1-loss SEC team is about 90% to get in. I say 90% because I have no idea how much weight will be thrown at conference champs in the final poll. A 12-0 Miss St, if they lose the SECCG is 98% in. Someone should tell Vegas that

We would have to lose twice for a 3 loss UGA to get in, and not even then if UF takes care of business.
If UGA loses to Auburn their chances go way, way down.

Two things:
1) Your fascination with calling us "Moo-U" is pretty cool. I mean, you referenced it at least 10 times in one post, that's dedication.
2) If State makes it to the SECCG undefeated, well, there's really no reason to speculate what happens.

Problem is that Miss St isn't going to be undefeated this time next week.

I don't think State gets in if you lose the championship game. non conference schedule is a joke and eastern division schedule is also a joke.
State will be the only team in the country with 4 and possibly even 5 top 10 wins. Nobody else would even be close to that
Who cares about the OOC when you have played 5 top 10 teams?

This is just a hypothetical. The chance of this hypothetical relies on....
Moo St over Bama
Moo St over Ole Miss
UT/Arky/aTm over Mizzou
UGA over Auburn
UGA over Tech
UGA over Moo St
Wisconsin over Nebraska
Wisconsin over tOSU
1. Florida State wins out
2. Winner of Oregon/ASU in Pac12 being one loss
3. one-loss TCU or Baylor
4. [open]
The open spot would have to be filled with either:
- one-loss Baylor or TCU with no SOS and no conf championship
- one-loss Moo State that just lost to UGA in the SECCG
- two-loss UGA that just beat #1 Moo St
- two-loss Wisconsin, B1G champ, with their only quality win being tOSU
I'm just wondering the shite show that would ensue. The most logical explanation would be to give UGA the last spot. You couldn't give it to Moo St because that means they would jump a one-loss TCU or Baylor that lost earlier in the year, a two-loss SEC Champ UGA that just beat them, and a two-loss Wisconsin that won the B1G and just knocked off tOSU.
You couldn't give it to a one-loss TCU or Baylor because Moo St has more quality wins than each team and neither won their conference.
It would have to come down to a two-loss UGA that just knocked off #1 Moo St or Wisconsin. I think the choice would have to be UGA considering this is the first year of the playoffs, and they already stated quality wins and conference championships weigh more than anything else.

Of course, if we beat Auburn and Mississippi State we will have beaten more ranked teams than Auburn, so there's that.

Should we automatically expect Tennessee to lose 5-6 games next year? You have done that the last 3-4 years. What will be different? See how dumb that sounds?
