1. Recruiting Ranking don't mean shite, Quality coaching and player development wins games. (See Mizzou's defensive line, none were highly recruited, and one will win SEC defensive POTY for the second consecutive year)

2. We don't pay recruits to come to Mizzou, and are still able to compete at the highest level.

3. Mizzou doesn't play the injuries /suspension /East is down excuses card. We win with the players we have, and play the games on our schedule.

4. Mizzou doesn't loose to inferior conference opponents. Florida may not have the worst record in the conference, but they're among the worst teams in the SEC.

5. The SEC might be overrated

6. Georgia gonna Georgia (See UT, See UF, ...)

7. Kentucky still sucks

8. UT is "rebuilding" for another 7 seasons

9. Vandy is probably the second best team in the East

10. Florida has Jeff Driskle

You might want to wait until you actually clinch the division.

they don't mean everything but if you aren't in the talent league of other teams in your conference you are at a serious disadvantage. Look at who has won the SEC in the last decade and notice only teams with excellent recruiting have won: UGA, UF, LSU, Auburn, Alabama. Even good but not great recruiting at places like USC puts you at a disadvantage

Uh, maybe if you want "SEC East Champ" to be your crowning achievement. Ask any coach in the nation, recruiting is the #1 factor when it comes to winning actual Championships.

So, we've officially clinched the east?

Nope, MS2 thread.

Whatever the reasons are, it is very embarrassing. If Mizzou wins the East, we will get to hear the SEC haters talk ad nauseum about how the worst team in the Big 10 beat the SEC East champs.

I think y'all lose two more. Sadly, I think we lose another SEC game as well. We both end 5-3. We back in on the head to head. UT, with their new QB will get you and one of the other two of Arky and A&M as well. Auburn beats UGA.

Because :

1). Florida is in a down cycle. That will change. Bet on it and the will own Jizzew for years.

2). Georgia has had a few brain farts lately and lost Gurley. Expect them to rebound and own Jizzew for years.

3). Tennessee - Improving. Once was a powerhouse and at some point will return to that status.

Florida or Georgia would be a tougher opponent for the sec west winner than Mizzou. UF had its brain fart of the year against Mizzou. UGA had it against UF. Mizzou had it against UGA and Indiana. Mizzou didnt have to play LSU and Bama in the regular season. Otherwise, UF would be winning the east.
