Former president at Texas A&M. Current chancellor at Missouri. I think he "gets" the SEC.

if he can move the SEC office to Atlanta i'm good.

I like him as a person but not as the next SEC leader.
Like it or not, legal minds are better suited for this job.

I think he would be quite good, but the "Old Twelve" would never agree to leadership by a guy with ties to only the two newbie expansion schools.

Never been associated with an SEC school.

I think the job is his. All that's really required is a secret hatred of LSU.

If people (Big12, B1G, etc.) hated the SEC before they will really hate us with the Monopoly man running things.
I vote yes.

If he had any hand in that utterly retarded SEC commercial where y'all did the sayings of each team, I vote no.

You've discovered the root of my troll. I'm really surprised (a bit disappointed) at how well this thread has gone over.
ETA: Although I see many downvotes in OP.

We need to steal Larry Scott from the Pac-12

Neither was Slive, heck Slive was not even from the south.
When looking for the next guy, look back to why this guy was on the radar.
In 1990, he became senior partner and founder of the Mike Slive-Mike Glazier Sports Group, a legal practice specializing in representing colleges and universities in athletics-related matters.

I don't see a law degree as being particularly necessary. Do most of CFB commissioners have legal backgrounds?

Kevin Weiberg is the brains behind the curtain. Scott is the face man.

Not the last generation, but since Slive, it is heading that way. In the new world of big time corporate college it seems a give.
Slive and Delany both have JD's. Pretty sure Beebe had one too. Swofford came from within the Tar Heel family and not sure if Blowsby did, but not like the B12 made the right moves the last go round.

Since the Landmass is rolling, maybe John Grisham should dust off his CV.
