Kick out Kentucky and Missouri.
Add Virginia, Oklahoma, Duke, and North Carolina.
Also for a bonus move kick out 1 of the Mississippi schools (personal preference would be to kick out Mississippi State) then add Texas.

You're talking about NC State, and I'm agreeing with the poster that says FSU, and you want to bring up "actual product on the field"?
Are you intentionally playing dumb? Have you even read what I wrote? Once again, if NCSt and UVA joined the SEC their recruiting would suddenly shoot through the roof in a similar fashion to A&M. It would then only be a matter of a few short years before they got exponentially better. Having a major foothold in those states would also improve recruiting for schools like Tennessee which would aid their rebirth as well.

It's not a straw man, it's reductio ad absurdum to show the absurdity of chasing teams for their economic footprint.
If you think Fresno is a fair comparison to UVA and NC State in terms of gaining market share in a state I don't know what to tell you. They can't even bring the eyeballs that ECU would bring.
Chasing schools for economic footprint isn't absurd. It's common sense. The SEC is going to need to grow the footprint to get more money to continue to stay on top.
It's pretty stunning how incredibly short sighted you are.

#1 - going to 16 teams will create pod format/scheduling.
#2 - if not pods, NO WAY IN HELL Bama & Auburn going to the East (way too unbalanced strengthwise)
#3 - Mizz. & Auburn WON'T swap places @ 14 teams because the SEC AIN'T terminating the Iron Bowl OR TSIO (which 1 will have to be cancelled for that to happen).

You will never ever, ever get OU without OSU. They are attached at the hip politically. State politicians will never allow it.

If we can't get a VA school or a NC school they shouldn't bother.

Florida State and Clemson to the East, Missouri to the West.
Yes, I know this wouldn't add any new TV markets and it won't happen. This is simply just my preference.
ETA: The realistic answer is NC State and Virginia Tech. The SEC Network is based in Charlotte so it makes sense. And Virginia Tech is a pretty perfect fit, though it would be a long arse trip for some West schools.
Would have to make Missouri and Va Tech permanent opponents.
Then put Arkansas and NC State together.

TV revenue which is the only thing that matters in this day and age
Only because idiots like you buy in and keep parroting this bullshite.
There used to be a time in this country when the consumers actually had a say in what products were offered. Now we just take what they give us and pretend like we love it.
I don't know about you, but I haven't been making any money off of this Mizzou deal.
I have the best interest of the school I support and that is tied to TV revenue so that the beast can be fed. I see no reason to add schools who bring no monetary increase to the table simply because I would like to play them. Consumers still have a say. Texas A&M and Mizzou has shown that if you give the people the SEC product they will consume it.
Your school (assuming you have an SEC affiliation) has benefited greatly from what you term "this Mizzou deal".
The statements about 16 being better than 14 are true.

I suggest we add the University of Puerto Rico - Rio Piedras.
It's the flagship university of a huge university system, it expands the conference to an area completely devoid of any other college football influences, and it would lock down the island for the SEC Network.
Probably have to build a stadium and start a football program, but it would be a hell of a road trip.
Plus, the SEC could then have two Gamecocks in the conference.

Why get the little brothers?
VA and UNC are the only two teams worth adding IMO. Both bring large TV markets. VA is an excellent academic school, and UNC is a blue blood in hoops. Both have some football upside as well.

True. TAMU and Mizzou are ranked in top half for viewership. In 2013 TAMU was #2 in the Nation, Mizzou #8. In SEC TAMU #2, Mizzou #6...Guess Mizzou is apart of the "Big 6" when it comes to Viewers.

I guess he doesn't know the population of Missouri. Missouri is around 6 million. SEC is making more off Missouri than some of the flagship schools. Missouri brings viewers, population and $$$ to SEC.
Oh in terms of viewers in 2013 FSU #14, Virginia Tech #44, Georgia Tech #45, Virginia #65 , UNC #28, OU #16, Okie State #19, Notre Dame #9, Texas #26.....Safe to say Mizzou is holding their own at #8 in the Nation.
