You assume Gurley did nothing wrong. Why are puppies so determined to make Gurley and UGA look like the victims. He either got paid for his autographs or he did not. If he accepted money he understood what could happen. So he could care less about UGA in the end and should be held accountable if he received money.

us "puppies" aren't. Obviously this entire situation starts with todd, we all know that. But the end result of everything has to do with other factors, and those are the factors we're discussing.

He's not assuming that at all

Who did he extort?
I am not saying anyone was... Just wondering what would happen if someone asked for money from a person or organization in return for not going public with information that could be deemed incriminating by the law of the land or the law of an amateur sports organization.

Gurley is likely the one with tax issues, not the collectibles guy. He probably reports it all

I still don't get the entrapment part. Was the dealer a cop?

yeah
sure he reports it all...
as for TGII - no need to worry about any tax liability since we are looking at just under $400 (I hope)

Yeah, that makes no sense. It also makes no sense that these dealers would lawyer up if they didn't pay Gurley. Either way, it looks like Gurley received benefits from more than one memorabilia dealer. It's kind of hard to spin that.

What is the word for coercing a person to do illegal activity by threatening to reveal the persons previous illegal activities?
What is the word for asking for money in return for not revealing ones misgivings?

So your stance is these two guys tried to blackmail Gurley because they paid him for his signature? I was wrong, leghumpers will try to spin this.

Blackmail. But the one being blackmailed is still guilty.

I personally believe like most issues of the recent past UGA will skate on this but Gurley might be the fall guy. Might not? I don't know.
Anyone who thinks UGA wants to get in any lawsuit much less a civil one where people can be compelled to testify and records will be available for the public…has lost their mind.

UGA didnt do anything wrong, as we know of right now. Unless they actually knew everything prior to the Vandy game(Which the memorabilia dealer said they knew something about it, friday before) and still played him. They ruled him ineligible and havent played him. They are in the clear at this point, except for not being able to have Gurley on the field

UGA cant use the law unless they get sanctioned(Not gurley), if they get sanctioned it will be because they knowing played him while ineligible, therefore losing a lot of the ground in said lawsuit

I do not recall stating that... I do recall you not understanding the difference between entrapment and blackmail. What we do know is that two of the dealers involved have hired Attorneys who specialize in a Criminal Law, that they also were selling large lots of autographed items from high profile FSU and Alabama Players among others. We also know that you think that referring to UGA fans and Grads as "Leghumpers" is a witty get... And that tells me a lot...

Agreed my statement was in general and not clear.

What did I state to imply there was not possible guilt from either party?

I proposed activities related to this situation that could move it from a NCAA and possible Civil issue to a Criminal one... Speculating based on the reasoning behind the dealers hiring Criminal Attorneys.
