I never watched the show, but just flipping channels and catching bits and pieces, the dude just seemed creepy.

He's a victim of mental illness. Because he committed crimes due to that illness, he can be said to be criminally insane.

He'll be convicted and punished, which is appropriate, but that won't necessarily stop him from committing more crimes when released back into society. Hopefully he'll receive treatment while incarcerated and afterwards.

Imagine having to go through life with an intense attraction to children/adolescents. Imagine the kind of mental anguish that would cause you.

Not excusing his actions, but that has to be about as miserable of an existence as there is. You either spend your life suppressing what you know are horrifyingly disgusting urges, or you become the mot hated type of criminal in society today.

Agreed to an extent. I do feel for people that have sexual desires for something abnormal, and the desire to repress it.

Obviously the two are not on the same level, but part of why I've changed my opinion on homosexuality as a Christian and Conservative is this reason. Sometimes we're just geared to like something and be fixated on it.

I'm fortunate that I just want to nail chicks with big cans. If I violate the social norm and cheat on my wife with some giant chested broad, I'm a sleaze bag, but for the most part, life will go on.

Gays and this guy... Not so much. I think both are wrong FTR (children in a whole different level), but branding them as sinners and deviants without addressing human nature is missing the picture.

And I mean: Who do you turn to? Who do you tell? Where do you go? What kind of therapy is really available for this, if any? What a strange disease that we really have no cure for and if you're inflicted you just have to sort of deal with it on the inside.

Still got free will and the ability to not act on desires that are immoral. Whether it be the above OP, rape, murder or what not.

If you are the type to believe homosexual is something you are born with then you also must be a believer in the fact that the attraction to little children is something you are born with.

His actions are inexcusable but honestly it's a miracle it's only 3 (according to him). It could be much worse. Seeing a grown man's dick is a lot better than rape.

Imagine being in the grocery store and instead of looking at the mom you are checking out the preteen standing next to her. All the while hating yourself for it. I imagine the mental anguish is bad.

Absolutely. And I think acting on both are wrong and immoral. Not justifiying.
