"She loved it," Allen said. "She got all her questions answered and she was comfortable with the staff. She was actually raised in Tennessee in Ripley. She liked the visit a lot and it was good for her to be back."
Allen paid close attention to the small things during the game and he returns home feeling good about the future of Tennessee football under head coach Butch Jones.
"Coach Jones is a good guy," Allen said. "He really loves this program. The way he communicates with his guys is great. He doesn't look at you as a football player. He sees everyone as his kids. When they played Florida, nobody didn't notice it, but my mom and I did. Every time a player got hurt, coach Jones went out. When the kids from Florida got hurt, their coach just stood there. That spoke volumes to me. He's just there for his players."

Tennessee needs difference-makers on the offensive line and the 6-foot-4 and nearly 300 pound Allen is just that. He sees the chance for early playing time and believes he can accomplish that.
"It was in my head watching the game," Allen said. "If I come in and work then coach Mahoney is going to give me a shot. If you come in and work your butt off then he is going to use you. I have to get my body right and get ready for college. It's so important to get stronger and faster. Just be in the best shape so I'm prepared to play."

Allen entered his official visit committed to Georgia, but does he remain that way?
"I'm still committed to Georgia, but now that I'm saying other programs it makes me think," Allen said. "The biggest things for me is playing time, academics, the alumni and the extent of my degree. I'm looking at each program and how each gets you ready for life. I like Tennessee a lot.
quote:
"After all five visits, my mom and I are going to sit down and discuss it," Allen said. "I'm going to go through my information packs and pick what I like and don't like. I look at the depth chart on teams. I look at how each school uses their freshmen. I just want to be patient right now."

Yea, but early playing time has to be an advantage for Tennessee. I think we'll stack up well everywhere else and we do rotate a lot of linemen, though.

That's funny because _____?
Posted on 10/6/14 at 10:02 pm to redeye
Because you're ignoring the school he's actually committed to

Ah... yea that was stupid of me and I knew he was committed to Georgia. Doubt we get him, but we do have more luck with offensive linemen then anywhere else these days.

Allen isn't going anywhere, just taking his visits and having fun. I'd actually be most worried about Penn State here, tbqh, if I thought there was any chance he was going to flip at all.

Allen said he's in no rush to come up with a final decision and instead will make a final, public pledge on TV at the Semper Fi All-American Bowl on Jan. 4 which will air on Fox Sports 1.
"I want to commit at the Semper Fi game because I want my family to see it," said Allen, who has family spread out across the country. "My family doesn't really see me play, they just know I'm really good at football. So, when I get at Semper Fi and get on TV I get to show them what I'm doing and where I'm going."
Already committed but making a public committment later.. Interesting

Well, UGA most certainly has more than random sacks of meat at tackle this season, coming back next year, and already committed for the next two years, so yeah, UT can actually promise him more early playing time. However, Friend has the UGA OL humming right now in a pro-set, so he would be foolish to think he would get better coaching or experience elsewhere

If UGA flips Edoga, do you think Allen is more likely to look around?
Posted on 11/18/14 at 12:44 pm to Legendary0903
Maybe, but I don't think so. UGA isn't exactly loaded this class with linemen and we'll be replacing both tackles after next year without any current heir apparent (other than Ben Cleveland, who would then be a true freshman).

Edoga isn't flipping. He loves playing the game but he is going to USC.
Allen could end up looking but in the end I believe he sticks with his original commitment. He is looking out for his best interest and taking all of his visits so you never know.
I do think alot of his commitment will be decided on how many lineman we take. If we somehow pulled a miracle and got Edoga and Valentine I could see him wavering but at this time I think he sticks.

Jake Rowe 4945 posts 25 minutes ago via Mobile That he will announce on Sunday at the Semper Fi All-American game. I reported a couple of days ago that if he decided I didn't think it would be UGA and I still believe that. Still working on it but a flip to UT is likely right now IMO. I have changed my Crystal Ball pick to reflect that.
Merry Flipmas

Retarded that he wouldn't wait a week to see who the new OL coach is. If he doesn't like him, he can still flip then.
