If anyone even notices this thread, you will be getting comments about "off-season" or some such nonsense, but I find this chart interesting. It provides a graphical illustration of something that most of us "know" intuitively.
Everything above the line is an over-achiever on the field (versus recruiting-based expectations), and look at Bill Snyder's team prominent in that quadrant.
Everything under the line is an under-achiever on the field (versus expectations from recruiting), and look at Tennessee as the most-prominent outlier in that quadrant.
Thanks.

Typical Bama, dominating both sides.

I cannot make-out that top-left outlier. It looks like a blue horse with orange trim. Is it Boise?

As noted, yes. Click the link, then reorder the first table by "Diff" by clicking on it. Best performance vs. recruiting expectations:
Navy
Northern Illinois
Boise State
Utah State
Worst:
Kansas
Maryland
Colorado
Tennessee
The gotcha is nobody cares if you recruit "poorly" but perform at a high level, which none of the "Best" do. And no poor performer's fans will care that they have great recruiting (oops, Vols).

I am genuinely surprised that Alabama is right on the sweet spot. I figured we would be slightly on the 'underperforming' side, simply due to the ridiculous rankings of the recruiting classes. I guess averaging out the services softens the blow.

OM not looking so good. What is the range of dates for the graph?

Hide this graph, the non-trolling faction of SECR true-believing tDecliners will not be happy.
