Yes it is, having sexual thoughts about another woman other than your wife is committing adultery.
Or in your case, you giving blowjobs behind the skating rink is considered committing adultery, too.

Maybe they were just bisexuals that were shamed/harassed into just sticking with females.

NO there is no scientific evidence
False. Although not conclusive enough to confirm the OP directly, evidence has been published that suggest epigenetic influence on sexuality. In short, we cannot control epigenetic influence, thus, we cannot control sexuality in that regard.

Possibly. A lot of people think sexuality is black and white, when actually it's a spectrum.
Posted on 9/29/14 at 12:58 pm to Stonehog
yep, viewing sexuality on a spectrum is far more accurate than black and white.

Unfalsifiable hypotheses are the best.

So how did your 3 gay friends conquer their lust for the demon peen?

I don't think you're that dense. You're just anti-gay. My sympathies for your unrequited rationale regarding homosexuality.

Well, one of them was a lesbian, so I guess she gained a "lust for the peen" as you so inartfully articulated. And as I thought about, I know more than 3. I know six. I also do know, for fair balance, a couple guys who thought they were "delivered" and have recently decided they are, in fact, homosexual.
All of their stories are very individual and range from more of a instant "conversion" to a process.
I understand the opinion that none of them were actually changed or the opinion that they might not have been gay in the first place. But that's a convenient and unfalsifiable argument. In that argument, no matter what the evidence is, the invisible cat is in the chair.

In contrast, I do think you're that dense. You're running into the same issue as your ideological compatriots ITT. You start from the presupposition that homosexuality is "from birth" (which shifts and changes based upon the ability to debate of the person with whom you are arguing) and all evidence, no matter how contradictory, is simply fit into that bias.

You're a prisoner of your emotions. You sincerely want homosexuality to be a conscious choice so you can, in your mind, legitimately dislike them.
Have your other prejudices been taken away because of biological evidence? There should be at least one group you can legally discriminate against. Right?
Your powers of reasoning are constipated but that doesn't mean you're dense. Just scary.

I don't like ButtSects, so I won't be having any ButtSects, does that mean I hate gay people?
I mean, do we have to participate in the anal sex or can we just watch and cheer in a fireman's hat?

I've known 3 people since around kindergarten that came out of the closet later in life, and it was a surprise to nobody when they did. As far back as I can remember about all 3, there was something different about them. That is just anecdotal and has no bearing on the scientific evidence question, but I do think the vast majority of gay people are born that way.
Don't really care if there is scientific evidence or not though.

I don't legitimately dislike them. That's another ship mired in the Sargasso Sea of your logically-impaired arguments. My good friend who has now decided he is gay is still my good friend. He knows I don't agree with him and I still love him and his wife and kids. We text and talk regularly. He's no less a person than I am. He is just struggling with different things than I am. There's theological underpinnings to that whole discussion which I suspect are beyond both your ken and your care.

And as long as you're pumping out the pablum which passes for "conventional wisdom," I won't find you a bit scary.

I'd guess I know far more than 3 stories like this. It's certainly a common story.

I suspect you're living your life based on what you've been taught rather than what you've learned. Dogma can supplant knowledge for the entirety of a person's life if he lets it.
The person you call your good friend is a bisexual. In people who have black and white views of the world, as you've demonstrated, there's only homosexuality and heterosexuality.
A bisexual person is the only human who really has a choice regarding sexuality. Frequently, however, a bisexual will orient more strongly to same-sex feelings as he ages. This is most likely happening to your acquaintance.

Discussions with hardened theists are tiresome because of their lack of empathy. To see the world as it is requires us to "step into the shoes" of those who we regard as "different."
I grew up in a very religious household but my parents taught me that I have free will and the obligation, really, to understand other people's points of view.
Because we're different doesn't mean they're wrong. There's a very good chance that my own viewpoint could be misplaced or inaccurate. They taught me to "learn to learn."

This is all just supposition.

I feel the same way about "people like you" because you can't stop at a factual argument and have to continually jump to my motives, which is just an ad hominem argument by proxy. It's a bore.
