I cannot decide whether you people are too dense to grasp his point or simply assholes.
I live in college station. Sure, people are discussing the game. The discussion goes something like this. "Are you planning to watch the game?"
"Yes, it should be a good game. Aggies will win by two scores."
"I agree. Enjoy the game."
Hugh is describing a completely different level of obsessive discussion. Something like the discussions that we had in college station before the Alabama game in 2012. You know, two highly ranked teams, with clear implications for the conference/divisional championship.
The Arkansas game should be entertaining. It might even be competitive. But it does not justify obsession.

A&M is a highly ranked team that they think they can beat. I don't know why you think it's strange for them to be excited about that.

That is a valid point, and it is worthy of discussion. That, however, is not what took place.
Instead, every poster simply attacked the 0P, hurling insults barely short of calling his mother a $20 whore.

I more want to just get this one overwith...matchups against the worst team in the division are never as fun as the others. On to Mississippi State!

They're especially not as fun when your top 10 team gets skulldrug around the field by that "worst team"

How many of your male cousins did you try to bang?

Probably equal to how many of your cousins you've tried to PIITB

Great thread -- would commission a pilot to reproduce in skywriting.

It's a national TV game for A&M, too. There is not anywhere close to the level of anticipation among A&M fans as there is among Hog fans.
I was in Texas the week before the TAMU-Bama game last year. Listening to the radio, TV you would have thought TAMU was playing for the BCS title that week.

I know a bunch of A&M dudes from when I lived in Houston and about 60% of them are queer.
So you hang out with a lot of gheys? Interesting.

Compare to this weekend. Arkansas did NOT beat us last year, and the Ags are not the consensus-best team in the SEC.
Or are we? You tell me.

We've sucked for the past two years and looked better the past 3 weeks and a half of football than we have since 2011. The A&M game is a chance to prove ourselves and see how far we've come. Plus it's in an exciting venue. The Auburn game had similar hype since it was the first game of the year

That's true. In fact, the vibe I've felt in Arkansas this week is very, very much like the vibe that was in B/CS prior to the Bama game last year.
