Fellow Secrant expert thoughts on Tennessee vs. Oklahoma?

Vols showed some good signs
1 penalty the entire game - Probably should have tried to hold that DE
3rd down defense - OU was 3 of 12 (teams are 7 of 31 vs Vols are 3rd down)
Defense is better than expected
Special teams fumble and INT return setup two OU touchdowns
Kept fighting the whole game and blocked a FG near of game
Concerns:
OL is terrible and hopefully can only get better

Tennessee will be a force in 2-3 years. Butch is recruiting at a high level and they are playing with a lot of grit. If we're talking this season, I see 6-6 or 7-5. Worley is playing better IMO and the defense is much improved

Tennessee's fans didn't travel well.

The 100 yard pick 6 when we were on their 2 yard line and the TD that went through Crooms hands for a pick killed us.
Defense played great IMO. Only gave up 1 offensive touchdown the entire second half and did a great job of shutting down drives. Oline looked haggard, but I don't expect to see a Front 7 that loaded the rest of the season outside of possibly Bama.

I thought Tennessee represented well. Stoops wanted to put 50-60 up...but couldn't.

I agree the recruiting and effort of the team is better. However, losing Worley and having to start over at qb next year may set them back. 2016 could be a huge year for them.

Tennessee is clearly more talented and played hard for 60 minutes.
Worley won't make it through the season. That offensive line is a total disaster.

They have to sign some elite OL. They have a few guys in the pipeline, but they are starting walk ons and mid-major guys right now and their young freshmen are not elite prospect types.

Guess all the Sooner fans that commented to me at the game on how well we traveled are idiots, either that or you are, take your pick.

The not taking the band thing is embarrassing.
I know Tennessee is in budget free fall, but that is a joke. If I were a UT fan in Norman and our band wasn't there I would be royally pissed.

I thought UT played hard. Didn't yall blow a few redzone opportunities?

I was and said so on the UT board.

Didn't they leave the band behind for Oregon and an SEC game last year (Mizzou maybe?).
What is the deal there?

True. Right now butch is dominating every position except ol. Could be a big problem as nobody in the 2013-14 classes are really sec caliber on the ol

Yep, they are clearly more talented on the outside, Hurd is going to be good and they are signing lots of good DL, but you have to have NFL-type OL to win in this league.
I seriously don't see how Worley makes it through the season playing against the DL from UGA, UF, Bama, Mizzou.

Also - Worley is tough as nails. Gotta love that kid if you are a Tennessee fan. He has squeezed every bit of talent out of that body.

I eagerly await the return of the Vols. Great start.

Dang. Leaving behind a band at an sec game and a huge ooc? It sucks to be poor I guess

I mean Oregon I can kind of see, that's a haul.
Norman is not a cross-country trip from Knoxville.
