quote:Correct. Those forcing the removal are the ones explicitly violating the Constitution.
they gave the players the option of having them on the helmet or not, then it shouldn't be an issue.

I remember there being a part about separation of church and state.
I love how you commie libshits use this out of context for every battle you fight. We don't create laws based upon religious mandates. That's all it means. It has nothing to do with a football helmet, a team chaplain, or praying before a game. Holy shite, I'm tired of you pussies. #mad

First Amendment? Ring any bells?

quote:It does. Why don't you quote it, and then show me who you think violated it. Later, we can get into the real issue, that liberal antireligious judges have twisted that section of our Constitution to mean the exact opposite of what it was always intended for.
First Amendment?

The First Amendment (Amendment I) to the United States Constitution prohibits the making of any law respecting an establishment of religion, impeding the free exercise of religion, abridging the freedom of speech, infringing on the freedom of the press, interfering with the right to peaceably assemble or prohibiting the petitioning for a governmental redress of grievances. It was adopted on December 15, 1791, as one of the ten amendments that constitute the Bill of Rights.
Yeah, that doesn't say what you're saying it says.

I must have missed the part of the story where Arkansas St told their players they would either be Christians or kicked off the football team and stoned to death...can you provide a link to that?

The problem wasn't with the memorial, it was just with the cross. It doesn't really matter what the players wanted.
Based on how they described the law, I don't think there was any issue with the cross. They were honoring a teammates (who I assume was Christian) by putting a Christian symbol on their helmet. That isn't endorsing a a religion, that is acknowledging what the player identified himself as. I would say the same thing if the player was Jewish, Buddhist, Islamic, etc.

Ok you can acknowledge the first amendment's existence. Now can you read it? Can you understand the words?

The fact is that the first amendment gives them the right to endorse a religion if they choose to. Not the opposite.
