There is nothing he could have done to prevent it other than jumping to make the tackle.

The crown of a helmet is the top of the helmet, not the forehead part. The way he tackled is text book.

The ref was in no position to make the call. If he did lead with his crown as they claim he couldn't have seen it. Bottom line it was a violent collision and he just overreacted.
I don't really know what NFL DC's can do but just to tell them to play ball and hope they get a few breaks on the other side. When a perfect form tackle gets penalized what more can you do but let the guy score.

Damn, I can't stand where te powers at be are taking defense. I don't even like some of the helmet to helmet calls, but this shite right here....THIS shite RIGHT HERE?! I'd bet a pretty penny that Big Ben would gladly take that hit over the actual shite they're trying to eliminate from the game.

It's been long enough that I know the answer to this is yes, but has there been a late game situation where a team won because of one of these shite calls on a 3rd down stop? I'd absolutely flip my shite if something like that put a team in FG range late against Alabama.
