What about the one to Cooper?
I'm done. You obviously will never give Coker any credit whatsoever while defending every last move Sims makes.

The distance this statement is from lucid objectivity cannot be accurately expressed with any human words in any known language.

Regarding the QB position and objectivity:
Sims has demonstrated that he's capable of leading the offense, is a good leader, can both run and throw, virtually can't be sacked, and is very accurate (overall) with plenty of zip on his throws. He has also demonstrated that he needs to improve his play calling a bit, and is not a "NFL-calibre" long ball threat.
Coker has demonstrated that he is tall, looks like a pro-style QB, is a capable hard-nosed runner, throws a pretty but often inaccurate ball, and doesn't have near the command of the offense Sims does. Any other conjecture about what Coker brings to the table is based on hope and hype created by media/previous coaches/stories of almost beating out Winston.
This is objectivity.

Yes, this is much different then the hoard of you guys discrediting everything Sims does. Much different.
Now Sims never throws long balls (even though he completed the play Coker over threw on).
Now Sims is the QB the coaches want benched, when Sims completely dominated scoring 21 points (should have been 28) in the 7 minutes he played Saturday.
I just can't wait for him to keep proving you guys wrong. He will start against Florida and to many of the Coker apologist dismay he will play well.
It will still not stop the "Coker should start!" cries when he still has yet to prove this. I have literally never seen these levels of hype and delusion.
It's like some of you would be okay with us losing or struggling, just don't let Coker sit!

I've given credit to Sims for his play, but I expect that bama fans would also give credit to Coker as well. I admit my expectations are probably too high.

Yes. Based on the fact that Coker arrived to campus in May, your expectations of him are too high.
Posted on 9/8/14 at 1:08 pm to prevatt33
I was referring to my expectations for the fan base to be fair and give credit to both. With Bama fans one guy is always a scrub while the other guy should be winning the Heisman. To say that each guy is better at certain things while the other guy is better at others is a foreign concept to most Bama fans.

Definitely. Rational Bama fans are few and far between.

I never once have said anything derogatory referring to Coker. Before Coker even stepped on campus, I questioned his accuracy and decision-making after seeing the film that is out there on him. I still question it, and it is nothing against him as a person, its just the conclusion that I have come to after seeing him play.
I am of the opinion that Sims is the guy for our offense right now, because Coker just doesnt have it right now. Maybe he will come into his own at some point. , hopefully he will. It has nothing to do with wanting to put Coker down. I am just going by what I have seen.

I only want the best guy playing. Sims looks to be that guy at the momwnt, I don't know how anyone can see anything different.

Same! Its just so obvious that Blake is THE guy.

Sims’ 12 completed passes traveled to receivers an average of 2.3 yards downfield.
There seems to be a ton of fricking denial about this.
I think Blake is a swell guy too, but the homerism in here seems to know no bounds. He isn't "taking what the defense gives him", the coaches are game planning around his inability to throw downfield. He hasn't hit a receiver in stride downfield more than MAYBE twice. The few passes he's thrown more than 15 yards (and they're few to be sure) have been at WR's who had to turn around and stand there waiting on the ball. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm afraid of what will happen when we play an actual defense. Maybe this offense will work better than I expect, but I'm not optimistic at this point.
That said, Coker isn't ready either.

Yeah, or we are just going by what head coach says...

I am just going to go out on a limb and say that it has already worked better than you expected before the season. So why not hold out hope that it will continue to put up really good numbers and improve?

@marctorrence: Brian Vogler said that agains Georgia in the SECCG the team ran the same run play 6 times in a row because it was working.
@marctorrence: It was an example of what they're doing now with screens, etc… It's working, defense is giving it to them. Keep on keepin' on.
I understand being skeptical that Sims can't stretch the field vertically until he actually does it, but I also wouldn't make any inferences based on what we perceive to be play calling. In addition to the shots downfield Sims did take against WV, there were two where he stood in the pocket looking downfield before scrambling or checking down. Commentators even made a point of saying everyone downfield was covered. As already pointed out, he had the opportunity to throw deep against FAU but made the correct read instead and hit the open WR.
Not only has he been very accurate on short throws (most important thing in WCO), he's thrown a couple really nice intermediate balls as has Coker

Then why did the coaches call the same play with the deep cross coming under the clear out?
Huh?
Why are they calling the same plays if they don't want Sims to throw down field? Sims completed the deep cross to C.Jones while Coker over threw the clear out.
You guys say this lie and repeat it. Repeating it doesn't make it the truth.
Just imagine if Sims was the one under and over throwing hitches/screens?

Team Sims is an angry group because we're sick of the nonsense from Team Coker, a blind, illogical, faith-based organization.
