Aggies in September - games/polls

Short of a complete collapse by a few teams ahead of us, we should probably sit tight & get comfy with the team's current position, since I don't see how wins over any of our next 3-4 opponents will do much (anything?) to better our situation. Victories against these guys need to be of the blowout variety.
Sept 6 - Lamar
Sept 13 - Rice
Sept 20 - SMU
Sept 27 - Maybe even Arkansas?
I'm going to cheer like hell over the next several weeks for Mississippi State--likely our next "big" game (Oct 4)--and hope they come into that game with a shiny record.

We could still move up if some people in front of us lose.
Oregon and Mich St play next week. USC plays Stanford. Maybe some upsets as well.
By the time we get out of September, I think we will be firmly in the top 10 in all polls.

If Oregon beats Michigan State this week, we go up a MINIMUM of one spot. If Ohio State struggles against Virginia Tech or loses, we jump them as well.
If South Carolina beats Georgia on the 13th, that's another spot (not likely, but possible). If somehow Tennessee beats Oklahoma, that's one more.
If Kansas State beats Auburn on the 20th, that's another spot. If Clemson beats Florida State, another.
By the time we play Arkansas, we could be as high as 3rd or as low as 8th.

IMO, we'll need a strong showing against SMU in light of how Baylor beat them (subject for another thread), and it would be extremely beneficial perception-wise to beat the brakes off Arky a la 2012.
Truthfully, I'm giddy with how much of a leap we made. Was cautiously hoping for 11th or 10th, but figured we'd land around 14th or 15th.

I can't see that we need to worry about polls right now. With games against MSU, Ole Miss, Alabama, Auburn, Missouri, and LSU, the polls will take care of themselves.
