Sumlin's system is outstanding and the rest of the SEC will have to adjust

It is the perfect college passing offense and with all the young talent they have it will only get better.
LSU's defense has matched up very well against it because of our speed and our DB's don't allow much separation. Pass rush is really irrelevant against it as Jesse Palmer pointed out last night. That's a staple of the Air Raid - they actually want you to blitz because it opens up the field for their quick hitters and WR screens.
Despite all the talk about SEC speed, I just don't think most of these SEC defenses (outside of LSU in 2012 and 2013, Bama's 2012 second half, and Florida's 2012 second half) are quick enough to keep up with it. Straight line speed isn't as important as the ability to start and stop with elite quickness.
Also, the best thing for holding them down is a dominant running game - with a huddle. Auburn had a great running attack last year but since it was no huddle it meant quick scores, which is nice to get the points but you wear down your own defense and it becomes a who-has-the-ball-last scenario if you can't stop them. Ideally you want to run the ball at will on the A&M defense but take your time doing it. I think keeping the A&M offense out of a rhythm is paramount. Then, your defense, being fresh, will have a better chance of stopping them. I bet if SC had to do it over again they would have tried to pound the rock more early.
But yeah, Sumlin is the man right now

Pretty impressive stuff last night for sure. Have to see how the kid does if he makes a mistake or two. Everything went pretty perfectly last night for him.

Can we stop with this nonsense?
Any offense in the SEC West would have looked amazing against SCAR last night, that is a fact.
It was an impressive dismantling of South Carolina but this collective boner some of you seem to have for TAMU is embarrassing.

the dickride is so strong in this one that if his posts were published into a book it would be next to gay porn FICTION in the library.

I appreciate his comments but your reply is hilarious.

Is SC's defense that bad? Obviously they lost a ton last year, but they have had pretty solid defenses year in and year out.

Who knows how bad they are. But A&M clearly has great skill positions on offense.

No way Kevin walks into that situation. I think we'll see him leave for the NFL at some point but I think we get a few more years first.

I didn't see anything last night to indicate they were any good. They couldn't cover, couldn't adjust, couldn't get to the quarterback. TAMU played a nearly flawless offensive game but I'm not going to splooge over them yet - SCAR just looked massively overrated.

A&M did exactly what USC gave them and that is what a good team does.
The sad part is, USC was so unprepared, A&M probably didn't even run half of their plays.

It happens every so often, and others do adjust. This isn't the first time.

You stop Sumlin's offense the way you stop them all. Shut down the run and rush the passer. They didn't try to run enough last night to indicate if it could be shut down. And USCe didn't rush the passer at all. Props to A&M but acting as if they can't be beat is ridiculous. They are better than anyone thought, but USCe is likely worse than most imagined.

Agreed. USC light generated absoulutely no pass rush. The aggies looked good on Offense as usual, but their defense still sucks and they will not be able to run the table. Sumlin does what he does best this did not suprise me. They still don't run the ball or play defense.
