It should also be noted that UGA plays tough OOC opponents early on
SEC teams have lost to way lesser teams than Boise. I think we all agree. It's less about Xs and Os than it is the names on the jerseys and general perception. It left the SEC with less ammo to talk shite...that was the only takeaway for non UGA fans.
UGA should be given a lot of credit IMO for how they've scheduled in the last decade at least with travel to Colorado, Arizona, Oklahoma off the top of my head.
Clemson was a bad loss. No way LSU should have lost that game.

bama/ulm, arky/ulm, uf/gsu, msu/maine, etc...
those losses are EMBARRASSING. Those are games that should never, EVER have the outcome that they did. UGA losing in a bowl game, or to a ranked team on the road, isn't even in the same stratosphere as those games.

What a winning attitude. No wonder most SEC teams are such pussy schedulers
It has nothing to do with us, it's sports culture and society in general. Oklahoma caught the same grief, probably way more.

It may be a "bad" loss but it's in no way embarrassing. It's a bowl game against one of the top 3 teams in a major conference.

Agreed

I don't recall the La-Monroe game really fazing me. If bowl games count, it would be Utah in the 2008/09 Sugar Bowl.
Or UCF if that was BCS era. Can't even remember what year that was under Dubose.

UGA/Boise was a game between 2 teams. There was no winning to put each other there. They were better than us, we lost. If we had played and lost to Oregon instead, would that have been embarrassing too?
It's all relative to the culture of ESPN, message boards, twitter and the whole 24 hour sports news culture.

were the la tech and northern illionois games post 1998?

If you'll notice every team has bad losses, it's sports, it happens.
lackluster effort, bad coaching, bad luck, eventually they're gonna converge at the same time and you're likely to get beat by whoever you play.

Just one of the La Tech losses was post 98, in 99. We also lost to them in 97. Thanks Dubose!
Northern Illinois was Shula, so it was as well.
And the UCF game I mentioned was 2000, but I also forgot about that UCLA game from 2000. Man, Bama had a a bunch of shitty losses from 97-07.

When you're going like 3-9 and 4-7 at that point they aren't even "bad" losses. You're just a crappy team getting beaten by another crappy team.

Western Kentucky, twice.

So it was embarrassing for UGA because they had the balls to play them?
Not my meaning. We were horrible in 2011. UGA was not. You should have beaten them. You just got outplayed...
UGA went in to that game thinking they will give Boise the Hawaii treatment. Backfired.

Agreed. We all have losses and I'm not trying to flame UT or UGA.
I'm just curious which ones stick in your craw the most.
I hated losing to Penn State, more so after everything went down.

The 2008 loss to Clemson was bad too. We went into that game favored and we thought no way Dabo could beat Spurrier, well he did as our team no showed. Luckily Spurrier turned that around real quick. Maybe it was a blessing in disguise because Clemson made Dabo their permanent HC after that.

I don't recall that sentiment at all. I remember that year as one that we would struggle and was really surprised that team won 10 games after catching fire.
We lost 7 games the previous year....Why the hell would we expect to come in and beat a Top 25 team.

do what?
Sugar Bowl we were ranked 3rd and one of the hottest/best teams in the country.
2011 opener we had lots of unknowns and coming off a 6 win season.
Not sure why you think that.

1997
LA Tech 26
Alabama 20
1999
LA Tech 29
Alabama 28
And just for future reference, LA Tech had the same number of wins vs Bama in the 90's as LSU had.......2
