How many games was Gurley healthy? One maybe two.
And he single-handedly beat the GA Tech. I have never seen a RB run the ball the way he was at the end of that game. Everyone in the country knew where the ball was going and he just couldnt be stopped.

pre-season All-SEC teams.
Should be done away with. Wasnt Javen Snead preseason ALL SEC? Thanks for playing.

So why are you posting on a message board? Shouldn't you have a college job by now?

It's not Yeldon's fault Gurley can't stay healthy. His style isn't conducive to a long term career anyway. You think his injury problems won't follow him to the NFL?
Besides, that's why YPC is a stat. And Gurley and Yeldon both have the same career YPC.

Well if we are only trusting post-season All-Americam teams, Tre Mason is better than Todd Gurley. Of course, I don't believe that, but if we use your logic, that's the conclusion we come to.

Yeah, but TG3 would run over Chuck Norris. Add that to the list of things Yeldon couldnt do.

No one can deny he had a better year. He had more games, touches and etc. But he had a better year.

It's really like arguing with a brick wall. No one needs to bother. Thanks for derailing the thread, Doc. Now go pull up some near meaningless stat that TJ is a little better in and post a response thread so you can feel better about it.

Thats why I brought up Chuck Norris. I realized it. I am never on here. But its a Friday and I am in sales.

Yeldon has almost identical career stats to Gurley
Timmy Chang had far better stats then AJ Mcarron.
I guess if the game's on the line you'd take ol timmy eh?

Yes. Do this.

Because it's more fun to watch you fumble (not a Yeldon pun, I swear) around. It shouldn't shock anyone that coaches and talking heads are picking a decent system player on a run-first team with a track record of O-line success. Put Yeldon on a UGA's roster and he doesn't sniff those stats or accolades. Put Gurley on Bama's roster and he wins the heisman. I'll say it again, Yeldon is an average SEC starter, elite relative to the rest of college football, but given the pedigree of Bama and SEC backs he'll be forgotten pretty quickly. Gurley is elite in every sense of the word.

When watching Todd Gurley play, one realizes that in addition to all the power, speed, cutting ability, the one constant need is balance, and while it can be worked on, it is also just a natural talent. I remember the TV guys were showing Gurley hopping cones on one foot pre game to LSU and thinking, damn, I would sprain an ankle if that was me. Just watch the play where the USCe D guy pulls his helmet off via the face mask. The most impressive thing about that is that Gurley didn't somehow fall. I mean seriously, how many how there wouldn't have fallen at that point?
I truly think balance is the thing that separates the very athletic, good backs from the great ones. Marshall is great. I love him, but watch how many times he is easily tripped up by a grab at his feet. That is the difference between the two.

I honestly don't think there is a huge difference outside of the fumbles.
Taken as you said it, then, wouldn't you say Gurley is the better back, then? if they are the same other than fumbles...and Yeldon is the on fumbling at critical times, doesn't that make Gurley the better back? How important are the fumbles, in your opinion, that Yeldon has made?
Would you say they come at critical times and hurt Alabama?
Or would you say they don't hurt Alabama at all and they do not come at critical times?
That should help you decide which is the better back, too.

All things being equal....and yeldon fumbling at key times in games...you don't think that makes Gurley the better back?

TJ Yeldon's better.
No he isn't. Todd Gurley has been the best back in CFB since his Freshman season.

Gurley probably is better than Davis, but it is real close .. both are better than Yeldon.
To me Yeldon has that where did he go ablility, which is good... but Gurley & Davis, both have that "dang he's running right at me stuff"
Behind the same line I do agree that Gurley would probably be better than Davis by a bit. But I think Davis has a better year simply because of their respective O-lines.
They are 1-2 in the league in whichever order. Yeldon isn't even the best back on his own team, not to mention the SEC. I am looking forward to what Fournette does this year, though. His tape looked amazing, but I'm not going to put him ahead of two established SEC backs simply on promise alone.

I love when people say this. Do you know something Saban doesn't? Do you think he gives a shite about seniority or playing favorites?

I would imagine I know many things Saban doesn't... same as anyone. Granted, I should have put "IMO" in there somewhere. In my opinion, Yeldon is not the best back on his own team. I think Henry is better now and will show it in time.
Does my opinion change your depth chart one iota? No. Is my opinion set in stone? No. Yeldon could have an amazing year and put all doubt, even mine to rest. But, right now...
Thanks for thinking so highly of my opinion on a random internet sight to take offense at it, though.

Gurley would start on any team in America. I can not say that about any other back. He's in a completely different league.
