If Directv doesn't pick up the SEC network, will they still be allowed to show SEC games on ESPN Gameplan? I've heard 3 different responses from Directv representatives. A yes and 2 "I dont knows". Just wondering if anyone in here has asked this question to DTV yet. Moving in about 10 months, so dont wanna go through the hassle of setting up another installation and all that. If they don't get it by the time I move next year I am definitely switching but if they do get it, hey I get that movers package.

Im not talking about ESPN3 I am talking about ESPN Gameplan. The SEC is still listed as part of the Gameplan package on their website. I wonder if this is just an oversight on their part or a backdoor way of telling their customers that they still offer SEC football.

Most of those plans like Gameplan, MLB package, NBA package, etc., just allow you to watch games that are out of your local region but still picked up by DirecTV on some other channel that is normally blacked out in your region. I wouldn't think that they would pick up SEC Network games on Gameplan if the network isn't otherwise on DirecTV.

Louisville is still listed as AAC. I doubt very much that Gameplan will include SEC games. Their site needs to be updated.

If the game is a regional or blackout game being show on one of the networks ... then yes.
You just won't be able to see the games being shown on the SECN.
Problem is, all the leftover games not being shown on the big networks ... are considered SECN inventory.
So technically yes, in actuality no.

Those games are determined by home venue.
If the game is being played on an ACC field then ABC/ESPN gets first rights.
If the game is being played on a SEC field then CBS/ESPN/SECN gets all the rights.
CBS will never broadcast a SEC-ACC tilt even if it was #1 against #2. So ESPN would pick it up on the main network. SECN would be next before ESPN2 or ESPNU.

They have broadcasted UF vs FSU many times over the years.

In the 90s, not under the new deal.

2009 UF vs FSU was on CBS.

I had to call directv today for a seperate issue and was told point blank a deal would be done in a few weeks. This is a stark contrast to what they have told me on this in the past.

If Directv does not have the SEC Network, I am pretty sure that the Gameplan will not either.
I cancelled my Gameplan renewal, as I think about the only games I got were ones that were PPV in certain states.
I have the Fox Sports Channels, and all the other sports Directv offers, so I found that Gameplan really gave little, and always in SD not HD.
