Seriously, we don't have many things to be proud of these days, but Hunter is definitely one of them. Uzomah & Howard are both awesome players. I just thought Hunter had earned a little more respect. But the media sucks and I shouldn't be surprised.

Im sick because I explain why I think RN got more votes, but when every single state fan says that CJ is better than RN and gives zero reasons for this except he grinds n shite, its all cool.

it was a joke.

Jesus. How many redneck hick papers does the state of Alabama send to this event? Does every weekly and monthly publication get to come vote, too? I feel like I've stepped into the twilight zone.

Just go look at the # of votes for the Bama players.

I'm supposed to believe that Cooper and Yeldon are the best two offensive players in the conference? And Arie is the 3rd best lineman? Ryan Kelly is a 7th best offensive lineman? Austin Shephard is the 11th best offensive lineman? Trey DePriest is the 2nd best defensive player in the conference?

Don't be disappointed, AU. I've got something for you too. Why do these 87 people even get a vote:

DL Carl Lawson, Auburn (87)

Can we please do the right thing and move this event to Atlanta? This is mind-numbingly bad.

Howard and Uzomah both have better QBs throwing to them than Henry does, which is a significant factor.

State having two of the top 10 DB's in the SEC, according to ESPN, and then neither making All-SEC is also a joke. But then again none of our guys are big media personalities. Same reason McKinney and Jones aren't First Team.

I think the mistake might be assuming ESPN knows more than local media.

But that was also the case last season. And Hunter dwarfed them.

I just expect better from the "professionals" that cover this event. This was a brutal list. Bama's OL is their biggest question mark coming into the year, but they have 3 of the top 11 OL in the conference?

Recruiting/star ratings influence these kinds of lists way too much, IMO.

I am hoping their o-line will be a bit down this year as well, but it isn't unreasonable with their current history to believe these guys will step up and preform at an all-SEC level.

I genuinely felt bad for Hunter Henry. Uzomah is nice weapon inside the 10 yard line, but Henry had almost triple the amount of catches he had and had more TDs. Howard did nothing last year either, but I could at least understand people expecting him to break out.

And Jarvis Jones had Manti Te'O beat in every meaningful category except Interceptions but he and Clowney lost out on every major defensive award because of Te'Os bogus girlfriend died of cancer story. The world sucks and then we die.

TEs are used differently based on the system they play in more so than any other position so comparing stats is apples and oranges.

Thanks for the insight.

Hunter Henry was AP 2nd Team TE last year. So the contingent of sportswriters assembled from all across the state of Alabama defied the statistics and their peers.

This is true.

HH is a beast and has all the tools to be an above-average pro at the next level.

It doesn't really matter. I just find it entertaining and comical. Nobody should be taking the clowns at this event very seriously.
