Interesting to see how much the abortion rate is going down thanks to better education and contraceptive use. But of course crime and abortion can't be decreasing if it's the end of times, right?

quote:

Abortion is one of the safest surgical procedures for women in the United States. Fewer than 0.5% of women obtaining abortions experience a complication, and the risk of death associated with abortion is about one-tenth that associated with childbirth.

Great stuff in the OP.

I always feel for the father in the situation of an abortion. I know the second my child was conceived (of course had I didn't know in the exact instance) he was mine. Anything anyone would have done to him would have been done to them tenfold.

At least the women who have aborted babies will have to answer to their maker one day.

Holy crap, the woman's odds of surviving are way better than the baby's.

No they didn't, you lying disingenuous butthole.

They said a company did not have to subsidize 4-5 forms of birth control that terminate a pregnancy after the fact.

And how about the men who got them pregnant because they were too irresponsible to wear a condom during sex? If men are going to leave all of the birth control duties to women, then women who find themselves pregnant as a result can do whatever the hell they want.

No they said a closely held company did not have to provide ANY contraceptive in their health insurance plan. HL only challenged 4-5 of them, but the SC ruled they could exclude all of them.

No they didn't. They can't exclude all of them. It has to do with a law signed by Clinton in the 90s that requires the least restrictive condition be used to justify a limit on religious freedom. The least restrictive, in this case, was keeping BC on the list, but allowing Plan B's and intra-uterine devices to not have to be covered by the company.

Women will still have access to BC and the federal government will most likely issue an executive order issuing that they will pick up the cost of those items in the event that a company does not.

This reaction is much ado about nothing.

Here is the truth behind the issue.

It could be "right to choose abortion or birth" or it could be the right to trim your nose hair on a saturday. People mostly dont care about the actual issue its that most of the hippie offspring do not like being told what to do... I personally am pro life I was adopted so if my mother had not chose life Id be fricked

The funny thing is if "those of you that can" go back 20 years... it would be the other way around. The OP (no matter how douchey) would not be the one being ridiculed it would be in this case(all due respect CF) it would be Cat who would probably been laughed off the board.

dont get me wrong Im not the most holy by a long shot.. but life is life ... and Kentucky Sucks

It really smacks your soul, doesn't it. If you can sear your conscience to believe abortion is nothing more than a choice then evil is very close to claiming victory.

They both messed up but if a man wants the child the father has no say in the matter, on the other hand if the man wants no part of the child and the woman gives birth the father is responsible for that child as he should be, if a woman decides 6 mos into a pregnancy that she does not want the child she can abort, if the same woman was driving a car and was struck by another and the unborn child is killed I believe in some states the driver of the car can be charged with manslaughter or murder, so you see it's only a child when the mother wants the child. I wonder if in the future society will have a period of time after birth when the parents can decide if the child is viable before termination? sounds absurd but many behaviors we accept today would have been abhorrent decades/centuries ago.

Late term abortions are illegal in almost every single state except in cases where the mother would die if she carried the pregnancy to term.

In fact, the only states that allow abortion at six months or later are Massachusetts, Nevada, and Florida... unless the life of the mother is in danger.
