If it can't be LSU, I will always root for Georgia. Always have a blast in Athens.

I know this is 6 pages late, but are we now taking comments/opinions by Phil Steele to the bank? The guy misses as much if not more than he hits the target on predictions.

Who's better?
I don't ask because I'm a UGA fan and this particular thread is favorable to UGA. I ask as a Steele fan.

I make my own opinion. I don't bother reading him, ESPN, CBSSports, Yahoo Sports, etc. They all miss badly and we keep giving them hits which means they ll keep putting their shite out there for dimwhits to read/link for others to see. Outside of the top ten there is no point in ranking/analyzing teams. I was just making an observation that's all. Steele came up the other day and the consensus was he sucked just like everyone else. I was wondering if that had changed.

I'm with you, I typically follow recruiting, keep up with beat writers/local newspapers of each team around the southeast as much as I can, and watch as many games as I can. Never look to ESPN or any other major network for info unless it is their positional rankings (the ones that just came out) . Outside of that, I read this board. While there's not always a ton of info, you at least get a different perspective from the fan's of each team.
But I do like Steele. The guy may be wrong a lot, but he seems to do a lot more groundwork and research than any of the major networks. Which is sad considering his budget is probably dwarfed by theirs.

I never said you could take his prediction to the bank. I will say however, that I believe Phil Steele has built up MUCH more equity than Russ Mitchell. You know, the writer that provided the article that the following selected Auburn fans are treating as bible...

A UGA thread, Bunch of Aubbies, Korin, and Pettifrogger all grace us with their presence.
I'm shocked, really.

I'm going to need a link.

I think we would both agree that FSU had way more talent on offense and defense going into last yr than UGA does going into this yr.
I'm sure Steele would say the same if asked.

Link to what? The link in my post provides another link to the article and the responses on this very board. Responses such as "This guy gets it".

I don't think they had more talent on offense, but certainly more on D.

Jameis Winston and those WR's were much better than what UGA is bringing to the table this yr. Only position UGA has the advantage is RB.

I am a former scout. I saw the roster FSU had last year. I would say that there were just as many unknowns on their roster as UGA has this year. The talent was there, just like in Athens, just not proven. Both staffs (preseason 2013) were never given the benefit of the doubt of cultivating talent into results of National prominence. Pretty similar in my opinion. Am I saying for sure that UGA is on the same route with any degree of certainty. Absolutely not. But talent is not the issue in Athens; it's there. Just not cultivated yet for all we know.

I'd put our top 4 WRs against theirs. They had the big star in benjamin, but Mitchell/JSW/Conley/Bennett is about as solid as they come 1-4.
Obviously QB is no contest.

You had no idea of that at this time last year. You have no idea how good the talent is at UGA yet for this year. Who is to say that any WR will not have a breakout year that Rashad Greene had last year for FSU? Hindsight is 20/20 when looking at what they brought to the table on last years team.

Greene and Benjamin were phenomenal WR's and they had Shaw as well. I think Mitchell is solid, along with the others you listed, but I would personally take FSU's top 3 over UGA's.

Sorry for not thinking Mason will be as good as Winston.
