by taking on a kid with disciplinary issues. You're purposely ignoring the part where Tray stole money from the University before mouthing off to a teacher and being subsequently dismissed

An attitude of gratitude often times serves a kid better when they are in the doghouse.
So, UGA kept 2 kids on roster who stole money, but Auburn does this and you have a problem with it? As to the mouthing off to a teacher, I have not heard enough, but sounds minor in and of itself.

wait a minute, weve just been told numerous times, this does not happen at UGA, just every other school

I hope that getting Tray works out for him and for Auburn, but I have my concerns. I think that one of the reasons Cam and now NM have been successful is that going from a DI football power house to a community college had to be a humbling experience. Perhaps that experience taught them that you have to take advantage of opportunities when they come and to do anything to make the best of themselves.

Heresay. Regardless, AU was not involved in his actions but somehow its our fault and we are the bad guys.

Is he allowed to practice with the team but just can't participate in games?
I wasn't sure if the sitting out one year meant not being able to participate in any team activities, or just limited activities.

I believe they both stated so as well.

good god just another person making excuses for this kid, hope he cleans it up but its tough when you have people telling you you're still doing no wrong after you clearly have messed up multiple times

Richt handles punishment internally when he can, just like any other coach. UGA puts in place policies that make that impossible whereas our peers could handle the same offenses internally (ie. the UGA drug policy-mandated suspensions)

correct, I believe he cant travel with the team either. basically practice squad, he will be like one of the players that are on the team from the 85-115(or however many total any particular team has)

Not sure who said this or if you're just being facetious and taking things out of context, but we obviously have internal disciplinary actions. Our biggest issues are that our Admin usually has a bigger role in disciplinary procedures, the biggest being the drug policy.

So everything that was just said used as a retort(quite often) is a lie?

It happens. We do internalize some things. But other such as failed drug tests, situations like Matthews, and others are not. Like for example if a kid is caught drinking by a coach or GA but not arrested, they'll more than likely internalize it as long as it's not a problem (repeat offenses). I've got a feeling that cops in Tuscaloosa aren't booking a football player who is driving with out a license or is seen with a beer in his hand at a bar.

This is the issue. its your homeristic opinion. All schools(fans) do it, though

No

It's the truth. A first drug offense gets you a very public suspension at UGA. That isn't true at many other places.

correct, then after that you are just like most everyone else.

UK punishes on the first, but like stated above, thats about it as far as uniqueness.
So this supposed moral superiority stems from just the first failed drug test

Jesus H Christ. This isn't a conversation about moral superiority. I don't know why you keep thinking it is. No one is saying that we're better or more pious because we punish harder or more publicly. We wish that we wouldn't because it really doesn't help the team when you have 3 players suspended for the first 2 games. We wish Richt wasn't like that, it's just the way it is.

Since the first offense punishment is obviously the most common punishment issued, it's a bigger deal than you're making it out to be.

Your word, not mine. I think it's fricking stupid that UGA makes it so hard on themselves just because of some pot.
If it were up to me, all marijuana offenses short of distribution would be handled internally.

Y'all pretty much do. It seems every response is, "we do it the right way, but the other schools pretty much lets them do anything and covers it up"

No it's because we're better than you.

We really do, because we are a higher class of people. When will you ever learn.

So.... like stated, your claims pretty much revolve around one particular thing, first offense of drug test. Yet, yall use that to further it to every other aspect of discipline

Obviously its my word based upon the the supposed moral high ground from which many of yall stand and chastise from.
