I don't "believe" in evolution, I acknowledge it as established science. Asking whether or not one "believes" in evolution is akin to asking whether or not someone believes in convection or gravity, it doesn't really matter whether or not someone believes in it.

Come on Roger, everyone already knows how smart you are. That was a green answer so just say "Yes" and keep it simple.

Evolution as in we came from a 1 celled organism that walked out of the water? No. Evolution as in we adapt to our surroundings slowly over time? Sure. The best example is the different strands of the flu that keep popping up. They change ever so slightly to keep getting past all the different flu shots

I think the majority of people are devolving while technology is evolving.

I felt like saying "yes" would give the deniers a small window that they love taking advantage of.

People who deny evolution need to realize that it isn't an matter of belief, that idea is what props their ideology up. Evolution is far more well understood than many scientific principles that evolution deniers accept. It needs to be widely understood that a denial of evolution is a denial as outrageous as a denial of gravity.

The mechanisms that allow for microbes to evolve pathogenicity are the same that allowed a single cell to beget all subsequent life.

As a side, viruses aren't technically applicable as they aren't living organisms. Viruses mutate, they don't evolve.

I'm not about to hop into the multipage shitfest this is about to be but evolution is a well established and well documented, observable process that has nothing to do with belief.

please it's just a theory. let me know when you have something concrete.

This doesn't even ask if you believe in evolution. It asks if you believe in the theory of it. It's like asking someone if they believe in religion.

Ignore the map, it just made me think to ask the question here.

I know the question is shitty and I can't even find a source for the data, just found the map on reddit. LINK

So is gravity.

Explain to me exactly what gravity is.

Something that takes place over the course of millions of years is neither documentable nor observable.

No, but speciation taking place right now is both documented and observable. The information pertaining to these so-called "ring species" and specific examples of their speciation are in the Wikipedia article I posted in my previous post.

The mechanisms of evolution are mutation and natural selection, both of which are observable. The evidence for evolution is genetics, geology, paleontology, etc. which are also observable.

To go even further, we actually HAVE observed speciation events at both the level of microbes and the level of advanced multicellular life. We have observed speciation among bacteria, and we have observed ring species evolving.
