Clinton-Dix hasn't signed his rookie contract yet, but based on his draft slot, he's expect to receive a four-year deal worth around $8.3 million. Leaving Alabama after his junior season, Hubbard got a $5,000 signing bonus, and, at the Packers rookie minicamp, lockered in the "Green Mile" with the team's other 16 undrafted free agents.
"They definitely got a steal in that guy," Clinton-Dix said of Hubbard. "He plays fast, and he's a very smart guy. He knows the defense probably already here coming out of the system we came out of. He's ahead of a lot of people, so I think they got a steal. He's going to work hard and do whatever it takes."
So what happened to Hubbard, usually projected as a fourth-round draft pick at the worst? Hubbard said a heart abnormality found at the NFL Scouting Combine probably dropped him out of the draft. But some evaluators questioned his ability as a pass rusher as an outside linebacker in a 3-4 scheme, and others attacked his attitude, with Nolan Nawrocki of NFL.com writing Hubbard had a "quirky personality, inflated opinion of his ability and sense of entitlement."
When Packers reporters asked Hubbard about Clinton-Dix, the linebacker didn't reciprocate the safety's endorsement, but answered: "That's a question for coach Saban."
Hubbard isn't precluded from making Green Bay's 53-player roster as an undrafted free agent. Three such players opened the 2013 season with the Packers, and two more from training camp were brought up during the season. Hubbard said it doesn't matter on the field whether he was drafted.
"At the end of the day, I still have to come here to compete," Hubbard said.
In addition to Clinton-Dix, Green Bay also has another former Alabama player, running back Eddie Lacy, who was the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2013. Hubbard said he talked to Lacy after signing with Green Bay, and they noted the appreciation that Crimson Tide and Packers fans share.
"Better than Alabama," Hubbard said of Packers-loving Green Bay. "The tradition here is just (second) to none. It's crazy here. People around here take you like you're one of theirs."

Hmmm. I've never been too sure what to make of Hubbard and the way he answered that question about HaHa isn't helping his case.

Basically throws a teammate under the bus after said teammate compliments him? Wow. He's always been a bit different. I'm not liking the comments on Alabama either.

What's funny is we treated him like one of our own to...until he gave piss poor effort game in and game out. Always hoped he'd turn it around, but he never did, and he has no one to blame for that except himself, because he's got the natural gifts to be great.

There was a rumor that when Saban showed up at Senior Bowl practices Hubbard didn't give him the time of day. These quotes seem to line up with that.
TiF also posted on TSWSNBN that Hubbard didn't want to follow Cochran's workouts because he was afraid he'd lose some speed, so he was going to do his own lifting plan. That would explain why he looked like shite during the Senior Bowl.
Remember when Hubbard said in an interview that the ones who didn't buy in are gone? Wonder who he was referring to. From an outsider's perspective it seems that he would fit the bill, but I know he would never see it that way.

Hubbard was never that good of a player. He really wasn't. I don't care what anyone says. Cory Reamer was 1000x the linebacker he'll ever be just as an example.

It seems like our fans have talked shite about Hubbard throughout 2012 and 2013, when he was a solid player for us. He probably reads what our fans say about him on message boards.

I was always an advocate for Hubbard. He was strong against the run and I thought played his role well when he was asked to contain.
Then the more you go back and watch him play, the more you realize. If it looks like an elite pass rusher, thinks it's an elite pass rusher, and is supposed to be an elite pass rusher, it's an elite pass rusher...but wait he was rarely a good pass rusher. Even going back to 2012 when he had 7 sacks, he wasn't doing much of anything besides those 7 sacks. He was very slow off the snap, and just played lazily. If he just didn't have it in him, it'd be different, but he did have it in him. And he didn't play any better because he wasn't trying.

Hubbard's play always left me with the meh. Maybe my expectations were too high for him, but he never seemed to have "it."
Maybe he does read the message board posts about him, but should he sniff the Green Bay roster, do you think their posts about him will be any different?

We saw a guy at 6'6" 250 and expected Jason Taylor. He had the tools to be a great pass rusher, but he really never was. The guy did his job at Alabama. He was great at setting the edge against the run. Despite his limited strength you rarely saw a tackle put him on skates. He used his hands and length very well against the run, he just isn't a very explosive player, which is necessary to be a great pass rusher if you can't overpower a guy. Hubbard was a solid player at bama, he just didn't meet the fans unfair expectations of being a quarterbacks worst nightmare. We've longed for a dominant pass rusher for so long that we pegged Hubbard as that guy, because hell, he looked like the prototypical pass rusher.
He did his job, but he wasn't a world beater and I'm confident we have a guy that can step into his spot and do their job too.

If you're dumb enough to be a college or pro athlete, or any type of well known entertainer, and read message boards or YouTube comments, you deserve to be miserable.

after his soph year he was projected as a first round pick in at least one place I checked out. He had the hype and the skills but for some reason did not make it happen

Adrian Hubbard is an overrated, pompous, entitled, selfish pieced that I for one am glad to see go. Now we can get a proper rush on the passer. I will say though he was not the cause of us losing the Iron Bowl. Those blames are reserved for Saban not putting in Drake or Smaug and that shite kicker whose name I won't speak and that god awful Cyrus Jones whom I wish would transfer.

One of my best friends dated his sister for years. He told me Adrian was only about himself and NFL money. That didn't really work out for him.
