he started for two years on one of the best defenses in the nation, and helped us win an NC in 2012.

I just think its funny when fans talk about things when they have very little facts to support what they are talking about. Don't be so short-sighted.

Short sighted? The guy didnt buy in. He was surrounded by talent in 2012, so that's a load of crap to try to even start to say he was a key piece. He was not.

Where did you read that he didnt buy in?

It seems to me that if he didnt buy in, he wouldnt have started for two years. Also got significant playing time as a freshman on one of the best Ds in cfb history.

Funky,

I appreciate that you are always sticking up for Bama players. Would you agree, however, that for whatever reason some just don't live up to their hype or potential?

I would agree with that, yes, but I also believe that much of the hype for a college player coming out of high school is kind of unfounded, thus making certain expectations unreasonable for some players

If a player is projected to be an NFL draft pick...and if said player sees himself as an NFL draft pick...then yeah, expectations ought to be high. Damn high.

I gotta think that as hardass as Saban is about his players, their performance and the expectations for his defensive players - that a 2 yr starter either bought in or his arse wouldn't have been starting.

Argued a lot with coaches, especially over weight. Coaches wanted him heavier, he refused. No one was sad to see him leave early.
