Thanks for hopping in another thread about us!
The East will go back to the three horse race this year of UGA, UF, and USCe. UGA will need its defense to step up in order to make a run to the dome. USCe has tOBC...Nuff said. UF will have a nasty defense no doubt with CWM, but the Driskel led attack will make or break their season.
Sorry, Mizzou, but until proven otherwise you are a one hit wonder. I don't mean that in a bad way.... but prove you belong once more and I'll respect you

I was looking at roster of the east teams this weekend and I got to be honest. I have no clue how this year is gonna turn out.
Georgia and South Carolina look like the favorites but both are pretty weak on defense. S Carolina is gonna get pushed around on D-Line and Georgia secondary has no chance to cover anyone. I think Georgia is bad QB play away from being the team this year that disappoints the most and goes 5-7,6-6.
Kentucky and Vanderbilt just dont have enough talent and experience.
Tennessee has potential on offense but overall we are just way too inexperienced.
Missouri has a few nice pieces but their back 7 is pretty weak and passing game is a ?
IF and I mean IF Roper can work a miracle with that offense, I think Florida can win the east. But there are so many things about that team and program that are trending downward its hard to see them rebounding.
Just by default I'm gonna say S Carolina wins the east but they have 3 losses minimum and get absolutely owned by Bama or Auburn in Atlanta.

Going out on a limb and picking the Vols. If I'm wrong, no one will care enough to give me shite about it. If by chance I end up being right, I can gloat about it.

And the goalposts keep moving. I'l be sure to forward this statement of your lack of respect to the coaching staff.
Mizzou wins if we beat USC and Georgia. If not, it's all the Cocks.
ETA: I realize that's a pretty weak statement, but frick off.

I hesitate throwing this out there, since we have so many question marks and could go 0-8 for all I know, but if Vandy can beat Ole Miss in Nashville in Week 2, I don't think a 6-2 conference record is out of the realm of possibility, and who knows how that would play out. We probably lose at home vs. South Carolina and at Georgia, but I think we have a decent chance vs. everyone else. (No Alabama, no LSU, no Auburn, no A&M.)
You start out by saying you have so many question marks but then say you might go 6-2 in conference?
I think Vandy will have a really strong running game but that D is gonna have some growing pains this year. Inexperience in secondary is something that has been proven will be exposed in this league.

I never said the key to respect was one east title. Y'all have lost a good bit of experience and talent and I was just simply stating that as it looks right now y'all are just a one hit wonder.

I wouldn't feel to good about a former RB and WR getting alot of playing time in the secondary. Plus youth in the secondary will get you burned in this league. Damian Swann is the best player back there and he isn't exactly a shut down corner.

Remember that time that hope carried the Vols through to victory on that early October day?

I'm sorry I'll never question the great defensive football power that is TN again!!

You say that without knowing anything about either player.
Green was recruited as a corner and played RB due to need. Terry was recruited as an ATH and probably won't play much if at all.
There will be growing pains, but "they won't have a chance to cover anybody" is a stretch. Also, if there was ever a year to be inexperienced in the secondary, this is it. The QB play across the conference is likely to be relatively weak.

Hmm thats funny I haven't said one word about Tenn's defense but thats ok.
I'd like to hear your expert opinion on why Georgia's secondary will be good. Give me coaches praising the unit, players stats, something.

Nobody ITT has said they're going to be good. They most likely won't be as terrible as you seem to expect though. There's a lot of possibilities between good and terrible.

I'll agree with that. They may be able to mask it by having the right matchups. But there is no denying that the secondary is a major weakness for UGA. Maybe not to the level of "can't cover ANYBODY" but it's a big problem.
