In the list of college kids with things to complain about, Manziel is at the very, very, very bottom. Yet - he complains. Walk a mile in your shoes? Well, Johnny, I'd have loved to have walked a mile in your shoes when I was in college. It would have been awesome to not have to work. It'd have been awesome to be able to afford a professional sporting event, much less to sit courtside. It'd be awesome to drive a nice, new car that mommy and daddy paid for.
I don't hate the kid but this made me look at him like a spoiled brat. I was thinking is this dude fricking serious right now. Don't complain about being in the spotlight when you go out of your way to make sure you're in the spotlight.

He was. Probably still is. But he's hardly the villain folks make him out to be.
Became famous a little too fast and didn't know how to handle it. Really hasn't done anything egregiously wrong, though (no more than any other college kid did, tbh).

Oh, crap. I completely forgot about the "walk a mile in my shoes" bullshite. He caught hell for that as he should have. You're correct - that definitely made him look like a spoiled brat, and maybe he is. I STILL say, though, that Twitter is going to make idiots out of a lot of people in the next few years not named Johnny Manziel. Imagine for a moment that there was no Twitter. Does "walk a mile in my shoes" ever become public? I don't think it does. Or imagine that Twitter DID exist in Joe Namath's days... can you imagine that?
JFF has said some stupid stuff, no doubt. But almost all of it I can see myself doing the same stupid stuff when I was in school. Or anybody else, for that matter. People of all ages need to learn to STFU, in my opinion.
