It's hilarious to hear you guys whine about unfair schedules and then you propose putting Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and Tennessee in the same division. Not only that, you want Vandy in your own division. Your solution to schedule fairness is guaranteeing that LSU and A&M are guaranteed to win the SEC West every year while 5 of the traditional big 6 best each other to a pulp in the SEC East division? How convenient.

quote:It is the perfect solutiion right? I mean, we as LSU fans are just butthurt whining babies, so we get what we want with an easier schedule. And the other teams get to keep their traditions which is all that matters to them. So it seems like a win/win right?

Why not just add another game and allow the rivals and division to remain intact? Don't force other teams to have a perm opponent and allow two cross divisional games a year.
i'm fine with that. I don't speak for the LSU AD, and it's really a dumb argument IMO when fans of other schools think the AD's decision reflects the view points of all the fans.

Don't say "you guys" like this is what all LSU fans are calling for. Most LSU fans just want a 9 game SEC schedule so we get to see UGA, tenn, and USCe play in Death Valley more than once every 12 years.

It's even more hilarious to see Bama fans talking shite about LSU fans bitching about scheduling when your coach and AD went on a 2 year crusade to end the bye weeks before playing precious Alabama. Buncha baby-back bitches.

this. When the original expansion happened in 1992, you had two permanents. LSU had Florida and Vandy. So we didn't play Tennessee at all until 2000. If you're going to be in the same conference and play for the same title, you should play every team in the conference more than once a decade.

this is stupid. we aren't playing night games because we're LSU, correct. However, that's because we're the SEC game of the week so much because we've been one of the better teams for quite some time. Those games just happen to be slated for afternoon starts. It has nothing to do with the SEC not respecting our night game history.

quote:Meh. What if the SEC told CBS that they could not have LSU as one of their choices except when it is a 7pm game. Then CBS said no deal unless we are allowed the LSU option as well. Im sure the SEC would have stood valiantly for our tradition then...

Under the new East/West you would have had the same SEC championship game as last year.
It just seems ironic to me- LSU fans raise objection to the current format by pointing out they perceive scheduling inequality not in LSU's favor/in other teams' favor. LSU is told to be quiet; the schedules are about maintaining traditional rivalries and LSU is just being paranoid about recent events and not taking the big picture into account.
Yet a proposal that's put forward that would maintain the traditional rivalries is shot down because it's perceived to create scheduling inequality in LSU's favor/not in other teams' favors. Can you understand the contradiction and LSU's frustration?

That is my point, that none of this is about "preserving SEC traditions," it is about preserving what is best for me and I hope im in the majority
