I mean who is going to be better? Not Florida. Y'all lost damn near every playmaker you have. If they lose just Randle and Young, it won't be pretty for anyone in the SEC

But Gators^2, we lost errbody. Even Kasey Hill and Walker and Frazier and Doe-Doe. We have no players coming in. Donovan goes to the Knicks. O'Dome becomes a jorts factory.

Our roster next season:
PG: Kasey Hill, Chris Chiozza
SG: Michael Frazier, Eli Carter, Brandone Francis, Dillon Graham
SF: Devon Walker, Devin Robinson
PF: Dorian Finney-Smith, Alex Murphy
C: Chris Walker, Damontre Harris
We're still loaded.

Exactly, this is still a Final Four caliber team. I expect it to be a UF-UK battle next year.

If Johnson and the Harrison twins return, UK will be the favorites in the SEC. Florida will be the only team that will be able to at least hang around with them. And Florida may very well be a FF team.

On the flip side, if the Harrison twins leave, UK will have a lot of issues in the backcourt. Not buying that they will be super successful depending on a 5 9 freshmen to be their PG, no matter how ridiculous their front court is.

Common Cal occurrence. Only one year did it not work out well. I like our chances, but yes, a lot of pressure resides on the PG in Cal's system.

I wouldn't be surprised if they end up going the 5th year transfer route if those guys do leave.
I think a lot of people are underestimating Ullis because of his size. He could be a perfect type of pass first kind of guy this team needs, especially with a shooter the caliber of Booker playing next to him and the talent they have in the front court. He was apparently one of the most impressive guys at the McDonald's AA practices. Great defender.
Also think Florida fans are underestimating the impact of losing guys like Wilbekin and Young. How many massive shots did Scottie hit this year? He had the ability to carry their team when the offense would hit a lull.

That Starting 5 will still be pretty damn good.

FWIW, Ullis doesn't think much of Wilbekin.

Oh for sure. I just don't think you are able to replace the sort of impact that those guys made.

I think it's easy to say, as you can most years, that UK and UF will represent the SEC well.

We'll miss Wilbekin and Young undoubtedly. I didn't say we'd win as many games next season as we did this season.
I do expect to still be really good and compete for an SEC title, though. There's no reason we shouldn't be able to with the amount of talent on our roster.

good for him. Hopefully that hideous shirt he wore under his jersey during the championship game never returns.

I think Ullis can be good in time, but just not buying he will do well as a freshmen. I would know how good a short PG can be (Erv Walker), but the lack of size is going to be an issue that will be difficult to figure out in just one year. Definitely can see him contributing as a scorer, but it's difficult for ANY pg to be really good in one year, let alone a 5 9 one. If he gets in foul trouble, then what?
As far as Scottie and Young, yes we will def miss them, but more so on the defensive end. Young started having knee problems during his junior year and he was no where near the scorer we had hoped he would be. I remember games his sophomore year where he would just dominate with his baby hook, but never really had that consistency after. Yes, Scottie hit some big shots but he was a relatively conservative point guard and as a result, our offense probably suffered to some extent.
I expect next year to be a typical up-tempo high scoring Billy D offense. Defense will take a step back, and we won't win as many games in the regular season, but we will def by right there for an SEC regular championship and have Final Four potential. Another good blend of experience and youth. I expect big things from Hill and Walker.

We'll be fine, though. Hill might not be as good as Wilbekin overall next season, but he'll bring some traits to the table that even Wilbekin didn't. Elite vision and athleticism.
