re: Why is Nick Saban's non BCS title game bowl record so poor?

But here's the sad irony: had it been Foster, and not Griffith, who kicked that final field goal, Foster would have more than likely made the tackle before the Auburn player got to the end zone.
Wouldn't 57 yards be a Bama school record? If that's the case, why switch up kickers? I mean, if it was a 33 yard attempt, I could see giving Griffith a chance. But the probability of Foster making a 57 yard attempt has to be a good as Griffith's chances?
Who's decision was it to switch kickers? Saban's or Bobby Williams'?
Better yet, whose decision was it to switch holders?

If you were gonna try out Adam Griffith, wouldn't that have been the time?

Agree. Good riddance Nussmeier.

All of those decisions fall on Coach Saban. He'd be the first to say as much and I would agree with him. That doesn't make him a bad coach though. He's a man, like the rest of us, and makes mistakes.

Yup. All great coaches have many blunders. Also sometimes blunders end up working out.
All I know is we should all be happy to make as much money as they do for a blunder.

I guarantee you Foster wouldn't have gotten the ball as far as Griffith. Foster was fricking AWFUL.

Insert gif of the blocked field goal returned for a touchdown in the SECCG. That is probably what would have happened.

We also had the fake punt called back for a penalty that game. Why the frick are our special teams such a disaster all the fricking time?

When was the last time a Bama placekicker sent a kickoff through the back of the endzone?
It seemed like Cody Parkey was doing it 100 percent of the time for Auburn.

Oh come on, give us something to laugh at.

Because his teams are natty or bust, and when they don't get there they don't give a shite about a shitty exhibition game.

You mean like every national championship coach ever?

They're always "the better team." But sometimes "they just fail to execute." The Sugar Bowl looked like a Soviet-style execution on the part of the Sooners.
1st Downs 24 20
3rd down efficiency 7-15 6-12
4th down efficiency 1-1 0-0
Total Yards 429-516
Passing 348 387
Comp-Att 32-44 19-30
Yards per pass 7.9 12.9
Rushing 81 129
Rushing Attempts 30 35
Yards per rush 2.7 3.7
Penalties 11-95 6-45
Turnovers 1 5
Fumbles lost 0 3
Interceptions thrown 1 2
Possession 30:55 29:05
So Alabama had nearly 100 yards more offense, but turned the ball over 5 times to Okla's 1......and it looked like an "execution"....that should just about sum up your "knowledge" of football.
