Why won't you post the most probations?

Because I don't believe what happened in the years following WWII are relevant

Hope not, but anything's possible with the bagman still on the loose.

I notice no correlation between cheating and success. The 4 worst programs in the conference are all over the place (top, middle, and bottom).

Just curious, when and what was Auburn's first NCAA probation about specifically?

Are you sure about UF, I thought the last year of probation was 1990?

I always think that probations that occurred in the 1950s must have been very, very bad for the NCAA to get involved.
No doubt, probably every major program was cheating back then. And without the national media that we have now, a lot of infractions went unnoticed.

Just googled...found:

You see, for decades, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) did not particularly pay attention to whether teams were running "clean" programs (as in not paying their players). A 1929 Carnegie Foundation investigation over a number of years revealed just 28 "clean" programs of the 112 universities that they visited.

In fact, the NCAA did not even have an enforcement division until 1952!

In 1956, an assistant coach was found to have paid two high school recruits (twin brothers) $500 as an enticement to come to Auburn.

What is funny? Most is an adjective. Recent is an adjective. Probation is a noun...
