Exactly, I've used the analogy of him being like Mullen. If you were to fire him, do you honestly think you could get anyone better? He's a good coach, just needs one or two star players to make his team go to the next level.

We're very much like MSU football in this matter. Can't fire our coach at all for taking our program WAY past what we should ever expect.....but it does seem like both of our fan bases think they have their saviors wading in the swamps of Louisiana.

I would not trade Mullen for Hud though. The reason there is so much hype surrounding his name is because if a job ever opened up, he would be all but guaranteed the job and he's a hell of a coach. It's just good knowing that we have a fall back plan if Mullen ever leaves or gets fired

Sadly, that's exactly how I feel about him.
Ole Miss can't fire a guy who goes .500 in conference. We don't have that kind of luxury. In his worst season, he went 16-15 and 7-9 in the SEC. He's never even had a losing record.
