Who else here can check in?
Born and raised in Kentucky and raised a UK fan. Life took me to the University of Alabama for 2 degrees.
I love my alma mater and follow them and Tuscaloosa is my adopted home town but I root for UK in ALL sports. Period.
tl;dr my alma mater is different from my "team." Who else is like this?

I'm from Columbia and went to games as a kid. Plus, UNLV is pretty blah.

Undergrad - Texas A&M University
Masters - University of Houston
PhD - Texas A&M University
My team is everything to me. I can't even wrap my brain around the idea of being more of a fan of a school's team that I didn't attend, versus my fandom for Texas A&M.
Not passing judgment; I just can't relate. I understand that peoples' experiences are their own.

LSU and Alabama don't play high schools AFAIK so I'm not sure how much you'll get out of this thread

quote:really? I grew up 10 minutes from the rose bowl and went to basically every UCLA football, basketball, and baseball game until I got to Texas a&m. I'm not just going to drop UCLA because I'm at a&m
Weird and I'll never understand this

95% of students live off campus, no culture to speak of, evening classes, weird campus, off campus football, etc. I really wish I could have had a better experience, but it is what it is.
If I was choosing a school to be a fan of based on sports, I seriously doubt it would be Mizzou.
